April 26, 2024 - PnP - perfect cork and fill. Medium red with browning on the edge. First night this was almost undrinkable - intense mineral very tannic and drying on the finish. Magically transformed on day 2 (stored in fridge, corked). Lovely cherry flavors with mineral underpinnings and just a slight drying finish. Quite impressive as Corton often is, but a challenge. Not sure where this goes from here but better vintages of this wine could live for decades.

February 2, 2023 - Coravin fun - Corton (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Savoury, slightly woody; cedar, sweet spice, fruit a little underpowered for the oak component and shows as lightweight; sweet blackberry and blueberry. Juicy, fleshy, clean, again I find the oak is slightly too much for the fruit…it's not an oak bomb by any stretch of the imagination but just a bit out of whack.

January 3, 2023 - Very impressive, sturdy, healthy tannin and yet with transparent purity. Quite bold character, but with class and uplifting showing in the backend.
My only question is if the healthy tannin will resolve with the fruits over the years. If yes, that would very well be a transcending wine in the making. If not... well, it would dry out. I still have a few bottles left and will keep posting on this. It would be very interesting. It went beautifully with Low temperature roast beef, at 63 celcius over 3 hours. Cheers,

February 19, 2022 - Decanted for almost 1.5 hours. Cork disintegrated so I was a bit worried. Like others taster had a bit of barnyard that blew off in time. Aromas of cherry, mushroom, earth and dried cranberry. Flavors of cranberry, dried cherry, mushroom, earth and hint of soy sauce. Ends with a long finish of 30-35 seconds with cherry and earth notes. I rather enjoyed this even though I was a bit nervous in the beginning.

December 18, 2021 - Perfect cork and fill. Poured some to taste while the rest got more air. Medium red with clearing to the rim. A bit of barnyard on the nose initially. Medium weight on the palate well resolved tannins and good spice and red fruit flavors. Nose cleans up nicely after an hour or so. I would say drink up as the finish begins to veer towards drying out after being open for a couple of hours. Corton is always challenging to taste and even in lesser vintages needs decades to reach a peak.

November 14, 2021 - There is a really pretty wine lurking underneath the rather formidable structure. Bottles need way more time resting in the cellar.
