Pas beaucoup d’attente surtout pour mélisime 2009. Surprise au premier nez, fruité, belle profondeur, croquant et une fin légèrement poivrée.Une de moins de 2009.

During a Cabernet blind tasting. Medium garnet. Nose of dark fruit, earth with lots of pyrazine (green vegatable, bell pepper, aspargus, etc). On the palate quite some acidity, young tannins, not overbearing though but a bit lean/charmless. Good aromatic finish though. I have had good quality older Chinon, it is not a wine type I recommend drinking young.

Lighter fruitier red which is typical of Chinon. Has zesty acidity that blends well with bright red fruit. Very food friendly. Has medium length finish.

Restrained nose of cherry, tobacco, hint of eucalyptus or mint. Palate of earth, plum. Bright acidity and teabag tannins mad it work well with grilled salmon. Might have been better chilled just a bit. Something different.

powerful nose of menthol, cherry, tobacco leaf, and raspberry Palate is really pretty...cherry, tobacco, minerals, menthol, minerals....very svelte with a medium+ length finish....there is a small amount of lingering alcohol that distracts a bit on the finish but otherwise...very nice bottle

Nose - Earth, Cherry, Strawberry Taste - This wine attacked my tastebuds after previously consuming an '01 Bordeaux. The tannins were out to take no prisoners. Futher sips gave way to the flavors of the red fruit that dwarfed the vegetal side often found in Chinon. Enjoyable.

Dark garnet color with a bouquet of tart cherry, wet earth, and a touch of vanilla. Palate has lovely acidity with the tart fruit translating well. Balanced and finishes nicely. Very enjoyable.

Popped and poured before dinner. Intriguing nose of earth, mushroom, raw beef, spice. On the palate, earth and leather. Very acid, medium tannins. Low alcohol (12.5%) makes for easy drinking, but I like a little more fruit. Decanting might have helped.

There Loire Valley offers some real bargains if you're careful with the quality but this one disappoints. On day 1 there was nothing to make me want that next sip and it was tough to quaff it down. This tasted barely more than just 'wine' so I let it sit in the glass for an hour. Overall, it's a simple, dry, modestly fruity, lighter bodied effort that lacked anything interesting. It was noticeably better on day 2 as the tannins were softer but I wouldn't buy it again.

Loire Flight (The Wine Club, San Francisco): Light red. Olive and graphite. Light, green, fairly innocuous watery flavors, very short. Not worth ingesting the ethanol molecules for the minimal pleasure you get from this.

The nose was light with some toastiness, plum, fig and a faint dark cherry but no oak, The taste is very dry and high tannin. My wife who does not like big reds did not notice the wine being too dry and wants more! I was hoping for more terroir, but none from this wine.

Great nose. Light fruits and medium low acid in the mouth. This wine would probably pair well with grilled salmon or chicken with a light sauce.

A pleasant wine that is very easy to drink. Aromas and flavors of red berries and a little dirty vegetable. Medium body with dry tannins.
