Suppose to be 1er Jabot vs Faiveley vs Drouhin but no one brought Drouhin so it became Jabot vs Faively.

  • 2013 Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Med ruby, candied cherry, strawberry, high tannins, full body. This seems lot more masculine compared to the 2014, probably as the domaine was undergoing a transition. Would have benefitted with more time with air. Lot of fruits and structure to age for at least another 5 years. (92 pts.)
  • 2017 Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux St. Jacques - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Blind. Pale ruby, candied cherry, strawberry, forest floor, touch of VA, med acid, hint of oak, (92 pts.)
  • 2008 Louis Jadot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Blind. Pale garnet, earth, forest floor, high tannins despite the age, high acid. (92 pts.)
  • 2009 Louis Jadot Clos Vougeot - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Blind. Touch of cola, new oak not well integrated, good structure and body, red cherry, strawberry, high acid, high alcohol with full body. Still have way to go. Definitely a grand cru but needs more time for the oak to integrate. (93 pts.)
  • 2004 Pol Roger Champagne Vintage Brut - France, Champagne
Blind. Oxidative, mildly corked, nutty with some brioche, low acid with dense body. Definitely not like how a 2004 champagne should taste like (FLAWED)
  • 2014 Faiveley Mazis-Chambertin - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru
Blind. Was surprise when this was revealed as 2014, thought it was the 2017 as it was drinking nicely and did not have the transparency or airy notes that comes with 2014. Cola, oak rather prominent, high tannins, fully body, grippy tannins, red cherry, raspberry. (93 pts.)
