Tasted by JensAgo on 5/18/2023 & rated 87 points: All about oak here w this monopole Cru f Domaine Faiveley - it is fairish plus though not particularly engaging, nor memorable, to be frank an uneventful drinking experience. Straw-golden, green reflections in the glass. Nose - as said - is utterly driven by new oak w vanilla, butter & nuttiness emerging throughout bottle, hints of barrel spice, honey & grape. Palate is equally aggressive on the oak side, acceptable acidity, roundness & w ample minerality, rancid buttery mouthfeel, finishing slightly lemon-bitter. (453 views)
Tasted by Anders Danielsen Lie on 3/23/2023 & rated 88 points: Mineralsk og lett floral hvit mercurey med bra konsentrasjon. Kanskje noe preget av årgangens varme (628 views)
Tasted by TorHaa on 3/17/2023 & rated 86 points: Butter, popcorn and wax over yellow apples. Lacking a bit of acid (455 views)
Tasted by Jowh on 1/31/2023 & rated 88 points: Vanilla and butter. Somewhat heavy handed oak but matched well with the food and company so less critical than I could have been. (608 views)
Tasted by fussyeater on 1/31/2023 & rated 89 points: Fox Faiveley Dinner (Fox, London Wall, London): Lighter side of golden yellow. Little soap suds sea salt and lemon on the nose. Good yellow fruit, decent freshness, nice balance (no knees or elbows). V good. Half bottle. (850 views)
Tasted by SuperSomm on 1/7/2023: Pale gold colour. Medium (+) and developing nose with peach, ripe yellow apples, ripe lemon, butter, charred wood and wet stone. Medium (+) taste of peach, ripe yellow apples, ripe lemon, butter, charred wood and wet stone. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good Mercurey Blanc. Needed an hour to open. Drink now or over the next years. (90 views)
Tasted by carstenf on 6/5/2022 & rated 87 points: Nice blossom-like white , charming and most summer consume. (819 views)
Tasted by ekvoet on 12/4/2021: Seems to have found a perfect balance - more rank and elegant than earlier.
Remarkable notes of dry lemon, Hasselnut, Iron, stones…
Great QPR. (1098 views)
Tasted by carstenf on 10/14/2021 & rated 88 points: Like last time , a bit better perhaps. (1289 views)
(1138 views)
Tasted by Neras on 8/1/2021 & rated 91 points: Drank from magnum. Very rich. Buttery. Good balance. (1352 views)
Tasted by Mark van Delft on 4/23/2021 & rated 91 points: Really well balance Mercurey! Soft oak, tropical fruit, apricot, peach, note of citrus, tree fruit, note of stone, excellent to drink without food on a sunny day 😎. (1462 views)
Tasted by Sisuvino on 3/30/2021 & rated 91 points: Pleasing fruity bouquet, light lemon, pleasing finish. Equally good on second day after refrigeration. No unfavorable qualities. (1060 views)
Tasted by henrijanssen on 3/26/2021 & rated 88 points: Mooi zuiver complex ik zou hem nog even laten liggen (989 views)
Tasted by RuneG on 3/6/2021 & rated 89 points: PnP. Classic nose with yellow apples, lemon, butter and a bit of a flint. The palate is medium-plus-bodied, fruity and acidic with a lovely lemon lift. The wine has a good balance and does not feel warm despite the vintage. No alcohol feel on the nose or the palate. IMO Faiveley’s Mercurey wines offers great QPR. This one is not an exception. (1006 views)
Tasted by Matata on 1/23/2021 & rated 89 points: Flint før den får luft. Sitrus og tre. Mineralsk og tydelig fatpreg i munnen. Ikke fet, med tretanniner.

På andre kveld finner jeg også en deilig duft av smør. (1096 views)
Tasted by Francophile1 on 1/19/2021 & rated 89 points: Paired perfectly with homemade Asian style chicken lettuce wraps. The crispness and mineral driven, lemon curd, and damp slate stone cuts through the saltiness of the food. A great value white Burgongne. (935 views)
Tasted by Pinot_Geek on 1/7/2021 & rated 89 points: White stone fruit and gunflint. Good QPR.
Less acid and balance than the excellent 17', but nice overall. (996 views)
Tasted by richard.presser on 11/27/2020 & rated 88 points: Straw coloured
Fine, subdued Burgundian nose
Medium weight and flavour, subdued. Quite high tartaric acid, giving it a lemony flavour. I expect it will develop richness with time. Needs time. (996 views)
Tasted by pilatus88 on 11/24/2020 & rated 90 points: A very nice and price worthy classic Bourgogne. Mellow apple and fresh lemon peel. Not very acidic though. Long and fresh finish. (903 views)
Tasted by CarlssonsWine on 11/7/2020 & rated 90 points: Yellow apple, oak, nice typical Bourgogne wine (954 views)
Tasted by SuperSomm on 9/20/2020: Pale gold colour. Medium and developing nose with peach, yellow apples, ripe lemon, butter, charred wood and wet stone. Medium (+) taste of peach, yellow apples, ripe lemon, butter, charred wood and wet stone. Long and dry finish. Medium (+) acidity. Medium body. A very good Mercurey Blanc. Needed an hour to open. Drink now or over the next couple of years. Goes well with cheeses, fish or shellfish. (87 views)
Tasted by Danneskjöld on 9/16/2020 & rated 89 points: MB dead on. Notat skrevet i ettertid.

Smør, gule epler og tre. Fersk og lett på smak med mineralsk preg. (1132 views)

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
