Tasted by Drakes Wine on 6/22/2020 & rated 94 points: Excellent for a great Father’s Day meal in Ventura with Mom Pops and Buki and Jimbo. (1277 views)
Tasted by Winiac on 1/21/2020 & rated 89 points: Ripe fruit acid minus and oak plus. Good structure. Round and medium weight, which is an achievement in Napa. Tar, blueberry, and cassis flavors. (1554 views)
Tasted by Halfeel on 8/13/2019 & rated 92 points: Cork was not in good condition (crumbly) but fortunately, the wine was still very good at 12 years of age. (1702 views)
Tasted by Kanorfleet on 2/14/2019: The wine is definitely showing its age at this point. Very short finish and taste of alcohol. It was still drinkable but not as enjoyable as I remember (1796 views)
Tasted by Novalife on 4/25/2018 flawed bottle: Really sour at this point. Cork had dried off completely. (1831 views)
Tasted by europat55 on 4/7/2018 & rated 92 points: Simply delicious mature California Cab! (1659 views)
Tasted by Somm Good Wine on 12/9/2016 & rated 93 points: I thought this would be on the downhill but I was pleasantly surprised. This is in its prime right now. Round firm tannins, medium acidity, very well balanced. Drink now and enjoy. (3003 views)
Tasted by kowskima on 9/3/2016 & rated 88 points: Great QPR. Flavor was good the finish was a bit flat. (2925 views)
Tasted by JMFWC on 8/20/2016 & rated 89 points: Drinking well, but on the downslope. Nose has a good amount of fruit with a little hint of green. The palate shows more acid than fruit at this point but makes it pair with food well. Tannins are well integrated. Overall a nice wine but probably peaked at this point. (2853 views)
Tasted by ericshaun on 8/18/2016 & rated 92 points: Absolutely solid Cali cab from a so so year. Aging beautifully, still plenty of purple fruits left. Moderate acidity, long deep finish with just a kiss of minimal oak intrusion. Alcohol is present but balanced. Tannins are smooth as butter right now. Glad we have three more bottles left, this is drinking wonderful right now but has at least another year left if not more. (2496 views)
Tasted by merryberry on 4/10/2016 & rated 91 points: Dark crimson with magenta highlights. Blueberry, spice and cedar nose. Medium to full bodied, plums, blackberries, cherries, well integrated tannins, leather, and a long sweet finish. Really excellent for an entry level cab. (2763 views)
Tasted by SCosgrove on 2/29/2016 & rated 88 points: Nice, mild, was hoping for a bigger wine. (1766 views)
Tasted by EdKz@comcast.net on 12/26/2015 & rated 90 points: mild aroma, mild dark fruit, lots of earth and oak, pleasant, simple old world, opened up nicely in an hour (1808 views)
Tasted by ebmielke on 10/17/2015 & rated 65 points: Fruity, smooth but too thin. Not enough body for a California cab (2197 views)
Tasted by Dan L on 10/11/2015 & rated 88 points: Well, I was hoping for something different, but it was still good. My research on this wine suggested that cellaring would would pay large dividends, but instead it tasted to me like it was on the back side of its apogee. The nose was fantastic and suggested a much larger body and flavor profile. To be honest, I've been carrying this particular bottle around for the past couple of years so it could have been damaged along the way. In all it was good and well worth the $17 I paid for it. (2574 views)
Tasted by galewskj on 10/8/2015 & rated 88 points: A well-balanced inexpensive cabernet. It went well with a steak. Not flashy or complex. (1993 views)
Tasted by SCosgrove on 4/7/2015 & rated 88 points: On the sweet side of things, nice drinking wine. (2615 views)
Tasted by 1nono on 2/16/2015 & rated 93 points: Perfect timing!!! Delicious, very fruit forward, long lasting finish (2540 views)
Tasted by bzukaitis on 11/29/2014 & rated 89 points: Coming into its own. (2816 views)
Tasted by Rgentile on 11/4/2014 & rated 89 points: Consistent with previous note. (2861 views)
Tasted by cmcmullen on 10/4/2014: Kurtis and Cristina's housewarming (2987 views)

Nose: Raspberry, mint herb, white pepper
Palate: Very ripe red cherry fruit with a slight oak toast

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
