Tasted by Ernestas on 4/5/2024 & rated 92 points: A pleasure to be back to this exemplary Provence red blend composing of 50% CS and 50% Syrah, aged for 2 years in foudres and barrels, bottled unfiltered. Deep ruby. Medium+ intensity complex aroma of leather, dried cherries, cigar box, plums, chocolate and black pepper hints. Medium+ body, concentrated and broad, but well structured and balanced. Still youthful but already very pleasant, showing spiced and herbal black fruit flavours, earthy and leather hints, mouth coating high and tight tannins, long finish. (373 views)
Tasted by rupertg on 3/31/2024 & rated 91 points: Dark rim, black centre. Initially disappointing, but really opened up after 3 hours. Tannic in the mouth, but superb full fruit finish. Went well with lamb. (357 views)
Tasted by viniferatu on 12/10/2023: black fruit and copious green resinous herbs, a little very dark chocolate too... dense, layered and resonant on the palate, still not ready but always a great pleasure (947 views)
Tasted by TexasBob on 8/31/2023 & rated 93 points: Bright medium ruby color. Dark chocolate and black berries on the nose along with roses and a potpourri of floral notes - fantastic bouquet. Tangy mixture of red and black fruit notes, fruit punch notes, with a slightly chalky texture and a firm tannic grip. Fantastic. (1124 views)
Tasted by aagrawal on 8/8/2023 & rated 92 points: Deep purple-ruby; aromatic with olives, brine, plum and blackberry; palate is medium-full bodied, medium-plus acidity, balanced medium tannin, again black olives and some salinity; medium length finish. Very nicely balanced, youthful but enjoyable. 92-93
With a bit more air, a lot of savory complexity, now with some red bell pepper. (1211 views)
Tasted by viniferatu on 1/14/2023: Drank a bottle the other night. Didn't take a note, but it's worth noting that this is starting to open up nicely, and will continue to develop positively for many years. (2011 views)
Tasted by wineamateur on 11/3/2022: Placeholder. Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah. (1924 views)
Tasted by Pascal on 7/31/2022 & rated 92 points: On sait ce qu'on boit quand on débouche cette bouteille, avec cette petite pointe d'amerturme caractéristique. (2113 views)
Tasted by Renevin on 5/26/2022 & rated 91 points: Nez de cuir, ferme, terre, poivre .En bouche, bel ampleur , moyennement corsé avec une belle présence tanique aucunement agressive. Legere acidité. Belle longueur (2076 views)
Tasted by FransS on 11/10/2021 & rated 93 points: Five wine friends and two guests (Restaurant Olivijn (Michelin star) Haarlem, The Netherlands): Quite hefty, exotic, wood, graphite, a bit drying tannins (you can even smell them); the combination of syrah and cs assures a long life, so this wine, at the age of 11, is far too young. (2849 views)
Tasted by dagij on 11/1/2021 & rated 94 points: First taste of this vintage. From magnum. Deep ruby color with few hints of aging, almost black core. Decanted 4-5 hours before serving. Nose dominated first by dark berries (blackberries, hints of black currant) and blue plums. After a while in the glass, wonderful gushes of provencal spices complement the sweet fruit. And, after some more hours, a mineral, steely tone fulfills the complex aroma. This is really great. Full bodied attack with smooth tannins, high concentration of fruit in the middle part, and a fresh and spicy finish. Long and mineral aftertaste where the fruit and the spices compete for attention. Remarkably elegant in the mouth. The tasting curve is linear, fresh, nicely balancing dryness and sweetness. This is the best edition of Trevallon I have tasted. Will only get better with age, but is superb right now. (2387 views)
Tasted by TexasBob on 1/1/2021 & rated 92 points: From magnum. Glowing and slightly cloudy ruby-crimson color. Sweet and concentrated red berries, poppyseed paste, onion powder, and caramel on the highly unusual nose. Velvety texture with firm tannins. Sweet raspberry jam with a rather chalky wild strawberry chaser note and a slightly dusty tannic finish.

I was worried this was a premature open, but it’s in a great drinking window. I love Trevallon. (3256 views)
Tasted by PeterMole on 12/7/2020: First bottle. Complex nose, black fruit. Much too young. Tannines not integrated. Great potential. Medium bodied. (2980 views)
Tasted by cheZ joZef on 3/19/2020 & rated 93 points: Starting to get interesting (3947 views)
Tasted by Lady Chatelaine on 2/20/2020 & rated 91 points: Drank with friends around "petits farcis provençaux" (Provence vegetables in the oven , stuffed with beef meat and herbs) and same conclusion than the previous experience : what a wine ! It has all you may expect from a blend of Syrah and Cab Sauv.
It's a benchmark ! (3290 views)
Tasted by dmnq on 2/15/2020 & rated 93 points: Just starting to open up after 10 years (as predicted by the winemaker). Complex nose with garrigue herbs, leather, black pepper, cassis...Chewy mouth feel, dense but ripe tannins. Aromatically very fresh. Silky mouth feel. Black fruit, herbs, leather in retro. Long finish. Love this wine’s balance. Looking forward to open the other 5 bottles in the years to come. (3231 views)
Tasted by kosmik on 2/14/2020 & rated 92 points: Cerises, épices douces, poivrons rouges confits, touche végétale.
Acidité rafraîchissante, tanins charnus et fins, amertume moyenne-forte, long. (2596 views)
Tasted by rupertg on 1/28/2020 & rated 86 points: Beginning to open out. Not one to serve to people who like up front fruit. Black centre, red rim. Muted nose, still very tannic, but interesting flavours beginning to emerge. Much clearer three hours after opening. Classic Rhône tobacco leaf from the Syrah. Good enough to finish the bottle. (2501 views)
(2254 views)
Tasted by Mazy on 12/16/2019 flawed bottle: Ultrabretté... Décevant. (2226 views)
(2006 views)
Tasted by PMJak11 on 8/5/2019 & rated 95 points: Quite lovely! Not as good as the Daumas Gassac last night, but very strong showing.

Refined nose of tar and earth. Cherry fruit combined with leather and just a hint of spice on the palate. Medium plus finish. Very good value at the price point.

Will be trying to acquire some! (2349 views)
Tasted by dmnq on 8/18/2018 & rated 92 points: First time I opened one of the 2010's I bought upon release. Popped and poured in a wide burgundy glass and waited for 15 minutes. Contrary to some other reviewers I found this wine pretty open and ready to drink. First impressions in the nose of cedar, greenish herbs (thyme, rosemary..), white pepper and finally the typical touch of "iodé" (what the french call "scent of the sea") related to the 50% syrah. Only after a swirl of the glass I picked up impressions of ripe blackberry & raspberry. In the mouth initially a fresh & straight start which gives way to a medium sized body with more fruit, spices and a tertiary hint of leather. Grippy but ripe tannins and a relatively long length. (3679 views)
Tasted by Rabaja on 3/4/2018 & rated 92 points: Plenty of garrique aromas with dusty blackberry, plums, lots of sappy red currant, and grape leaf. The aromas develop and change with each passing smell. Though there is still sweetness, the tannins are amassed in a wall and seem to be impenetrable. I'd wait another five years plus to open again. Will keep for fifteen. (4152 views)
Tasted by TexasBob on 1/27/2018 & rated 90 points: Dark purple with violet-brown at the edges. Candied red and black berries on the nose; reminds me of the fake candy raspberries and blackberries I bought in England as a kid. Drinks much older than it is; soft and pleasant, with aged red fruit and plum notes. (3915 views)

Producer Website
Up until 1993 the Trevallon Rouge was Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence, Les Baux. However, starting in 1994 this was 'declassified' when the AOC Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence was revised (in 1993) and the maximum amount of Cabernet Sauvignon was reduced to a measly 20% (it was to be complemented with Grenache). Eloï Dürrbach did not want to give in and decided to market his wines under the Vin de Pays des Bouches-du-Rhône.
