Tasted by efeldhake@yahoo.com on 3/23/2022 & rated 90 points: Deep garnet in color. Nose of cherries, leather, and menthol. Tastes of dark cherries, milk chocolate, tobacco, and hints of vanilla and menthol. Resolved tannins and thinner viscosity. Drink now and over the next seven years. (666 views)
Tasted by rgprints on 1/12/2019 & rated 89 points: Very good to excellent, but not wow. (1611 views)
Tasted by oldwines on 12/20/2017 & rated 91 points: Decanted at 1:30 then replaced in bottle to take to a tasting dinner and drunk late in the evening. Medium dark garnet color with a huge amount of sediment requiring careful decanting. It is somewhat light to medium bodied for vintage port but very enjoyably restrained. Plenty of ripe red and black fruit and strong hints of chocolate and blackberry liqueur especially on the finish. Great with some strong cheese. (2115 views)
Tasted by tcfishler on 12/8/2012: Relatively gentle, resolved yet simple aromatic profile doesn't prepare you for what follows, which is still a muscled mouthful. Agree with previous tasters that time will still benefit. (5440 views)
Tasted by asheio on 10/23/2011: Very young and straightforward now. Pure, dark fruit. Some spicyness and lots of tannins in the finish. I will try to hold the last bottle for 10 more years (5808 views)
Tasted by JBECH on 2/26/2010 & rated 88 points: Put it away for 10 - 15 years. It will only be better. Very Young (6276 views)
Tasted by Greg W on 2/12/2005 & rated 91 points: Drank from half bottle (375). Dark purple in color - almost black. On the nose, fairly open, with notes of sweet fruit - blackberries, a little chocolate - something in the nose is reminiscent of a grape popsicle. On the palate, more sweetness than fruit, but still delicious to drink now. Very powerful, very sweet, a little out of balance (probably noted more due to drinking it right after the '94 Dow's, which was beautifully balanced), but we still really enjoyed the wine. A lot of wine for the price - I believe these halves cost around $10. I'd like to have more of these in the cellar - seems like a great "go-to" port. (6850 views)

Port Blend

Over a hundred varieties of grapes (castas) are sanctioned for port production, although only five (Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Touriga Francesa, and Touriga Nacional) are widely cultivated and used.
