Tasted by jlhkiss on 3/19/2019 & rated 92 points: Consistent with previous notes almost two years ago, though opened up after 20-min this time. Medium weight. Honeydew, melon, lemon curd, honeysuckle, and hints of lime and tangerines with a one-minute finish. Paired awesome with broiled lemon salmon. Custom-built for seafood. Drink 2019-2024. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 92. (1177 views)
Tasted by khmark7 on 9/3/2018 & rated 88 points: Pleasant, yet also very delicate and mild. Best without food. (1459 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 1/20/2018 & rated 92 points: A private lunch (Restaurant Tribeca **, Heeze, NL): A pretty rare wine - only 3% of production at this 38ha Domaine is white. It is a blend of 60% Clairette, roughly equal parts of Ugni Blanc and Bourboulenc, and a little (3%) Marsanne. Clay and limestone soils, aged for 8-10 months in small oak barrels. Complex nose with subtle aromas of fennel, bergamot, white peach, flower honey and smoky minerals, good depth; soft but fresh palate, mineral and silky and rounded, beautifully balanced, zesty bitters, citrus flavours (meyer lemon, orange, lime); light finish, very good length.  Tasted by SimonG on 12/5/2017 & rated 89 points: AB Christmas Bash (Chez Bruce, London): Pale straw. Nose initially quite mute as per the 2011 earlier in the day, but opens to a pithy apricot-scented fruit kernel nose. Relatively light and fresh with a nicely waxy texture. Decent line. Attractive. Worked well as an aperitif. *** (1927 views)
Tasted by jlhkiss on 5/8/2017 & rated 92 points: Opened and let air 20-min before dinner of pan fried garlic sole, aspargus, and grains. Really opened up after a few hours. Pale yellow with an amber hue around the edges. Nose is somewhat restrained, but brings subtle notes of white flowers, honeyuckle, lemon meringue pie, and tangy tangernines. The palate is medium-light, round, concentrated, and creamy, bringing fresh apricots, oranges, grapefruits, kiwi-lime, and green apples into the finish, which delivers a fresh lemon zest and juicy nectories that lasts 30-seconds. The weight, density and viscosity of the mid-palate is quite impressive for such a light-bodied wine. Still youthful and will likely improve through 2024. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 92.  Tasted by Derek Darth Taster on 12/18/2016 & rated 92 points: Pop and poured. At home. Rare bottle brought back from London.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, yellow gold colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of hot stony minerality, exotic white flower, yellow pear, kiwifruit, pineapple. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of stony minerality, citrus lime, yellow pear, kiwi, pineapple, honeyed cream, slight savoury vegetable (in a good way). Very long finish.
Very good quality. Very complex, excellent acidity, and good mouth-feel all the way to the finish. No need to wait any longer on this. Ready to drink. Should hold strong for the next 2-3 years' at least.
Approximately 60% Clairette Blanc, 18% Ugni Blanc, 19% Bourboulenc & 3% Marsanne. (1576 views)
Tasted by HandmadeHomemade on 1/12/2016 & rated 92 points: Fresh and vibrant. Notes of honey, kiwi, pineapple, and wet stone. The wine's minerality/acid cuts the fruity sweetness and makes this wine very drinkable. (1606 views)
Tasted by kstoddard on 12/22/2014 & rated 93 points: From foudre (1783 views)

Domaine Tempier

Producer website

U.S. Importer (Addt'l Info)

Domaine Tempier is located at Le Plan du Castellet. Its vineyards stretch over three different communities- Le Castellet, Le Beausset and La Cadière. The plots of land are thus far apart and require extra work. But the soil of these different areas yield distinctive cuvées -Spéciale, Migoua, Tourtine and Cabassaou - as well as interesting and complex blends for white, rosé and red wines.
Domaine Tempier owns 30 hectares. It produces AOC Bandol exclusively - an average of 68% red, 29% rosé and 3% white wines, approximately 120,000 bottles per year

White Blend

"White blend" means the wine is made from a blend of two or more different white varieties - or in some cases a blend of pink or red varieties that are vinified white, ie. without any skin contact.
A blend of Antao, Arinto, Rouperio.
