Tasted by wineismylife on 11/22/2022 & rated 92 points: WIML92

Tasted non blind.

Light yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of hazelnut, yellow pears and toast. Flavors of lemon, tart red berries and Granny Smith apples. Medium to bright acidity, full bodied. Drink or hold. (497 views)
Tasted by galewskj on 10/5/2022 & rated 92 points: This seems to have improved since 2020, or I was in a better mood. The juxtaposition of sweet golden fruit with a lean almost chablis-like frame is really cool. If I could find this for $28 again, I'd buy more. (848 views)
Tasted by ginfizz on 8/15/2022 & rated 93 points: Mineral nose with touch of flint. Clean scents of underripe lemon and pineapple, zesty and sophisticated. On the palate, tight but broad, with mineral inflected fruit pulled in by crisp acidity. Very French in style, and total success. Good extract, medium finish. Let's see where this ages, but a great mouthful now. (708 views)
Tasted by Rezy13 on 8/9/2022: A little more golden, nose shows some development but not oxidation, almond paste, exotic, rich, well styled and substantial, hazelnut skin, lemon curd and weight with long drive of acid, pretty delicious. (819 views)
Tasted by 3daywinereview.com on 7/1/2021 & rated 91 points: Brother in Town Lot's of Wines!!!; 6/26/2021-7/4/2021: Last bottle. Spice, orange peel, shells and lemon. Cross between Chablis and California. Always enjoyed these bottles with the exception of the wax capsule. (1549 views)
Tasted by Brian Glas on 6/29/2021 & rated 90 points: Got some funk on the nose. Light golden color. Round. Sea shells. Minerals. Good balance. (829 views)
Tasted by GoBlue2002 on 1/26/2021 & rated 91 points: Excellent food / old world style chardonnay.
Mineral, white pepper, spice, apricot, hint of citrus.
Higher acid yet in balance.

Paired well with truffle butter mac and cheese - cut through the richness. (1021 views)
Tasted by 3daywinereview.com on 11/11/2020 & rated 93 points: Day 1: Singing out of the gate. Mineral, saline, sour apple, pear, toast and tropical fruit. Add shells to the finish and this is a close replica of Chablis. 92 points
Day 2: Wonderful on day 2. Minerals, sour apple, butter scotch, mild oak, tropical fruit, saline and crushed shells. Medium finish and nice acidity. 93 points (1224 views)
Tasted by bravo.solares on 9/17/2020 & rated 91 points: A balanced and harmonious CA Chard, with ample acidity and freshness. Mostly green apple and citrus and both nose and palate, with a hint of stone fruit on the nose. Oak not in the way. Elegant mouthfeel. If only more CA Chards drank like this... Drinking very well at the moment. (1026 views)
Tasted by JOsgood on 8/2/2020 & rated 92 points: Killer stuff, has aged like a dream. (917 views)
Tasted by 3daywinereview.com on 7/28/2020 & rated 92 points: Day 1: Wonderful wine with apple, spice, flint, lemon, orange peel and saline. Complex wine and medium plus finish. Good acidity. 92 points
Day 2: Still singing. Fresh and should age for another five years. 92 points
Recommendation: Drink now to 2025. (1007 views)
Tasted by brianofthevine on 5/16/2020 & rated 92 points: Excellent wine. Tart lemon and firm acid levels. Drinks like a Chablis. (884 views)
Tasted by bularry on 5/10/2020 & rated 91 points: 5 years in and this wine is just zipping along. Fantastic qpr (623 views)
Tasted by klezman on 5/10/2020: Delicious. Bright lemony acidity, some earthy/savoury notes, nice complexity, lemon oil finish. Not worth the full price but at under $30 this is getting into good/great value. (1740 views)
Tasted by 3daywinereview.com on 3/30/2020 & rated 93 points: Day 1: Orange peel, lemon, spice, shell and stone. This is quite complex and medium plus finish. Good acidity. Very well made wine for $25.00 on sale. 91 points
Day 2: Saline, orange peel, burnt toast, shells and stone. A slight lemon element on the medium plus finish. This is a food wine and much better at room temperature. 91 points
Day 3: This wine continues to evolve is by far the best on day 3. Minerals, shells, lemon, sour apple, match stick and saline. Medium finish and nice acidity. Really balanced and much better than day 1 and 2. 93 points
Recommendation: Drink 2024 to 2028. Hold these unless you are doing 3 day reviewing. (894 views)
Tasted by galewskj on 2/23/2020 & rated 90 points: This is a french-styled Chardonnay. The oak is mild, there is some salinity, shellfish and minerality to it. There is some golden fruit. (774 views)
Tasted by MattMauldin on 12/25/2019 & rated 92 points: Light gold color. Aromas of lemon oil & quince, saltwater taffy, crushed rock, orange blossom and green tea. Bright and open on the attack with succulent fruit and subtle pithy savoriness - floral, saline and mineral. Rich density and roundness with dry tangy fruit on the finish. Drinking well. (729 views)
Tasted by wineismylife on 11/29/2019 & rated 92 points: WIML92

Tasted non blind.

Light yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of flint, yellow pear, yellow apple and wet stones. Flavors of lemon curd, cherries and minerals. Medium to bright acidity, full bodied. Drink or hold. (839 views)
Tasted by Djfermentation on 9/8/2019 & rated 93 points: A terrific domestic Chardonnay that is right in the sweet spot stylistically for us. Bright with a sea air freshness and perfect acidity. Lovely! (898 views)
Tasted by bravo.solares on 8/20/2019 & rated 90 points: A balanced and harmonious CA Chard, with ample acidity and freshness. Mostly green apple and citrus and both nose and palate, with a hint of stone fruit on the nose. Hints of oak on the nose. Elegant mouthfeel. If only more CA Chards drank like this, I would drink more of it. Food friendly. Still young. Will revisit in 2 yrs or so. (752 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 8/10/2019: Mellow and rich just a touch of nuttiness. (913 views)
Tasted by 3daywinereview.com on 8/5/2019 & rated 91 points: Solid again with apple, tropical fruit, mild oak, minerals, shells and floral notes. Medium finish. (828 views)
Tasted by skifree on 5/12/2019 & rated 91 points: This Hermana tasted like an LF chard (the last one I opened was weird). Stone fruit and a touch of spice and heat on the nose. Mostly apple and citrus (lemon and orange zest) with a nice creaminess in the mouth, with good acidity at the end. I like this style. (862 views)
Tasted by 3daywinereview.com on 1/28/2019 & rated 92 points: Day 1: Not as good as the last bottle. Saline, tangerine, minerals and really acidic. Almost Sauvignon Blanc like. Really tastes like a poorly made New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Will return this bottle if no improvement on day 2. Gut impression 84 points
Day 2: This is more similar to the first bottle experience. Had one dumped this out they would have lost out. Always try a bad wine on day 2 or 3. More Chablis like with shells, lemon, orange peel and mild oak. Short to medium finish and acidity is not as sharp. Much more balanced and back in the Chardonnay style one would expect. 90 points
Day 2.5: Really coming together and now is a Premier Cru like Chablis. Shells, minerals, lemon, subtle spice and match stick. Based on day 1 this wine needs a few years of aging. Unless you are a day 2 drinker hold until 2020. 91 points
Day 3: Holly transformation! Even better than day 2.5. More intense on the palate featuring shells, orange peel, mild oak, lemon and sour apple. Balanced and medium plus finish. Similar experience to the first bottle. 92 points
Recommendation: If you are going to drink this on day 1 2 plus hour decant. I would hold these for a few years. One of the biggest transformations from day 1 to day 3 in a good way to date! (1363 views)
Tasted by yeti575rider on 1/26/2019 & rated 91 points: Liquid Farm tasting at Bassin's. Cheapest Chard and probably my favorite. Nice acidity with focus in a sort of bitter citrus range. Noticed the oak but it's pretty balanced and will likely integrate more. All the Liquid Farm's have this interesting mix of new school CA chardonnay but still with a touch of oak. If I actually bought Chard's more than once in a blue moon I'd consider this one. (1098 views)

2015 Liquid Farm Chardonnay La Hermana

2015 La Hermana
11 months in 100% neutral French oak
Bien Nacido 50%, Dierberg 30%, Solomon Hills 20%
Hints of green pineapple, lime peel, white grapefruit flesh and lemongrass. Lean and racy with a "drive by" of stone fruit but it's all about minerality showing that maritime influence allowed by the fog that makes its way all the way to Santa Marita Valley. Long, mouth-watering finish. Best Dec 2016-2022

Chardonnay

The Chardonnay Grape

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
