Tasted by sommelier on 12/24/2023 & rated 93 points: As always, fantastic bubbles (336 views)
Tasted by WetRock on 2/18/2023: I thought this was the Crouzet bottle like my previous one. I had clearly inventoried this wrong. This wasn't quite a regal as that previous bottle. Shows oxidation and cheesy pastry yeasty notes on the nose. Ripe apple palate with a mature expression. Some chalky grip. A good wine but only that. (845 views)
Tasted by Frank Murray III on 2/18/2023: Champagne In My Backyard (mostly blind) (My House): Served bind. This seemed richer in style to me, more in the vein of 7-Up in taste, which I don't typically like to drink (that drink for sure, and wines that express that same essence). Pastry tart, candied apple, brown spice and apple pastry. Overall not my style. (1228 views)
Tasted by vespa110 on 9/10/2022 & rated 92 points: Giallo paglierino, incomincia a distendersi, frutta gialla e bianca, note gessose e sale, piaciuto. (869 views)
Tasted by Aravind Asok on 1/8/2022: Pop and pour. Nice contrast to the 12 Callot Avats. Not sure of disg info, but this has been sitting in my friend's cellar for a number of years. On the nose: lovely citrus and minerality, and very mineral driven. Fantastic acidity, and chalky but still showing some richness. Yum. (1257 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 12/22/2021 & rated 93 points: Half bottle. Very interesting point-and-counterpoint of bright chalky minerality and crisp acidity pitted against ripe candied fruit and subtle nuttiness, well-matured yet fresh, flowers and ripe citrus. Bone dry but not austere. Classical. What Côte des Blancs is all about. (1798 views)
Tasted by sommelier on 9/25/2021 & rated 90 points: fantastic champaign . 7 years sur latte ! (1078 views)
Tasted by Charlie Carnes on 8/28/2021: So great like the last bottle. (1094 views)
Tasted by melvinyeowq on 7/24/2021: Can also be labelled as Fallet-Prévostat, Fallet-Crouzet Fallet-M, all after Madame Fallet’s daughters I believe. Somewhat of a rare bird, no information about disgorgement but it is usually an assemblage of two vintages. This bottle definitely had some age on it though judging by its appearance and taste. Made in an old school oxidative style with toasty brioche notes, reminded me of a grand marque tête de cuvee but couldn’t pinpoint which one as it had elements of Roederer, Krug and Taittinger. Zero dosage apparently but this was on the sweeter, richer side, possibly due to the picking of ripe fruits and being vinified in Alsace barrels. Very unique, I do like my lean grower champagnes but this was so easy to love with its unapologetically traditionalist style. (1071 views)
Tasted by Bakerbd on 6/25/2021 & rated 92 points: Lemon oil, pear, flint, mineral (716 views)
Tasted by Charlie Carnes on 1/27/2021 & rated 92 points: Excellent wine. It is creamy, rich, with nectarine, mineral. (946 views)
Tasted by JOsgood on 11/29/2020 & rated 93 points: Really complex juice. Just so much going on here. Excellent drink. (882 views)
Tasted by WEB,III on 9/16/2020 & rated 91 points: Nutty, rich, marzipan, old school. (906 views)
 Tasted by WEB,III on 6/22/2020 & rated 93 points: Delicious. (841 views)
Tasted by dbkitc on 5/8/2020 & rated 95 points: Holy smokes is this good. Lovely pale gold color with faint, tiny bubbles. The nose is extraordinary with flowers, light honey, citrus and fresh baked bread wrapped into a enticing package. Not heavy but incredibly deep and lasting. The finish is crisp, enveloping and dang near perfect. A Blanc de Blanc for those who typically like more Pinot in their bubbles. (95) (875 views)
Tasted by Bakerbd on 5/2/2020 & rated 93 points: Orchard and citrus fruit, brioche, intense (841 views)
Tasted by JOsgood on 4/26/2020 & rated 94 points: Wow, excellent Champagne. Great weight and nose. Tons of depth. Just a stunning bottle of Champagne. (937 views)
Tasted by the godfather on 4/26/2020: Beautiful stuff right here. So balanced, rich, and complex. (783 views)
Tasted by julen789 on 2/18/2020 & rated 91 points: Recent disgorgement.
Lots of mature stone fruits with guava, mango, ripe peaches and apricots, some white flowers and orange blossom, confit lemon, iodine and sea salt, vanilla, quite yeasty with an oxidative touch and vin jaune. With more air, it becomes a little lactic with crème fraîche and yoghurt, and some roasted peanuts.
Surprisingly moderate acidity with a syrupy, creamy texture. In several years it’ll be an immense wine.

Tasted by stevenc.rees@gmail.com on 6/7/2019 & rated 91 points: Bolder and distinctive flavors; not an average flavor profile. Very tasty (632 views)
Tasted by forceberry on 1/10/2019 & rated 89 points: Apparently this producer in Avize makes mainly two bottlings of Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs: one Brut with dosage and without dosage, which might be labeled as "Extra Brut", "Brut Nature" or "Non-Dosé". Furthermore, the wines are labeled either as "Fallet-Gourron", "Fallet-M", "Fallet-Crouzet" or "Fallet-Prevostat". Apparently the wines do not have any differences, but are just bottles labeled differently for each of the winemaker's daughters. This particular wine was "Fallet-Gourron Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut" with 12% alcohol and 0 g/l dosage. Tasted blind.

Medium-deep, luminous golden yellow color. Big, complex and rather sweet-toned nose with somewhat atypical aromas of peach, caramel, some golden raisins, a little bit of kumquat, light cooked cream tones and even a hint of liver pâté. Very distinctive nose, to say the least. The wine is moderately full-bodied, vinous and toasty on the palate with bone-dry yet deceptively sweet-toned flavors of cremy panna cotta, autolytic toast, some peach candy, a little bit of butter, light banana tones and a hint of apple jam. The high acidity lends good sense of freshness and structure to the wine while keeping the sweeter tones in check with the very robust, fizzy and persistent mousse. The finish is long, lively and complex with ripe flavors of chalky minerality, apple purée, some creamy richness, a little bit of peachy stone fruit, light leesy notes of yeast and a hint of apple peel bitterness.

A very weird, fun and tasty Blanc de Blancs that was something one was really not expecting from the style. Remarkably vinous, rich and sweet-toned even at 0 g/l dosage, I can imagine this wine can get just too rich and candied as a Brut version. Really atypical aromatics and flavors, one really needs to know what this bottle is going to offer or it will certainly take the drinker by surprise. Tasting this blind, I had no idea that this wine could be a) Blanc de Blancs; b) non-dosage wine. Weird and atypical, but enjoyable all the same - if perhaps not that serious. Complex, yes, but not in the traditional sense of Champagne. Priced somewhat according to its quality at 45-50€. (1247 views)
Tasted by stevenc.rees@gmail.com on 5/23/2018 & rated 92 points: Bigger style of wine - a bold forward flavor like a mature vintage champagne. Complex flavors and a good finish. This would do well with a baked or grilled salmon dinner, or leg of lamb. Quite tasty. Drink or hold. (1009 views)
Tasted by dbkitc on 4/9/2018 & rated 88 points: Not as impressive as the last bottle. Good, solid and balanced without fireworks. Liked it a lot but not special. (88) (1091 views)
Tasted by 5laton on 2/10/2018: Avize. Said to be a blend of 2008/2009. Quite creamy with super-fine perlage, rich yet bone dry with firm acidity. Quite different from rich, buttery/biscuit flavors one might find in Mesnil, this shows just-ripe pome fruits with a touch of mandarin and kiwi. Good concentration. Layered over this are moderately oxidative and rather strongly developed flavors that are quite unique, giving this the impression of a mature wine with youthful vitality. I'd have guessed this was older than a 2008/2009, perhaps 2002. Very interesting. (1073 views)
Tasted by dbkitc on 11/27/2017 & rated 94 points: What a contrast to the Rupert Leroy from yesterday. That was all red fruit and power. This wine is light in color with citrus, nuts and fresh bread notes. Spirited bubbles. Great focus and very good depth. Some white fruit on the finish. Lovely Champagne. (94) (1003 views)

France - When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of consistent quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Sub-Region:

Champagne - The French region of Champagne (including the cities of Rheims, Épernay, and Aÿ) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and wine-making traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range in sweetness ranging from an extra brut or brut 0, to the basic brut to demi sec to doux; some houses produce single vintage champagnes and others produce non-vintage (or incorporate wines/grapes of multiple vintages), often to preserve a specific taste; combinations of grape varietals; and colors, including a rosé. There are several sub-appellations, including the Valley of the Marnes river running from Épernay west, Massif de Saint-Thierry north and west of Rheims, Valley of the Ardre, the Mountains of Rheims (between Rheims and Épernay), Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne, and Côte des Bar in the South. Champagne wine only uses three grape varietals (cépages): Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
