Tasted by cblinstrub on 4/27/2024 & rated 90 points: Very easy to drink. No depth or complexity. (61 views)
Tasted by redz on 4/16/2024 & rated 91 points: I have to agree with previous posts, a little light and thin for this price point. (102 views)
Tasted by Colpete on 9/25/2023 & rated 89 points: A very solid Bordeaux blend. Aging a little weak. (357 views)
Tasted by cblinstrub on 12/21/2022 & rated 90 points: It’s…fine. Still high acid, fading primary fruit but no tertiary characteristics. Maybe just in an in between place. (618 views)
Tasted by Asull2k on 10/31/2022 & rated 90 points: A little bricking and dark ruby color. Some BO, light soy sauce, hint of cherry on the nose. Typical aged cab flavors, some blackberry and plum on the palate with 35-40 sec finish. At the auction price this was quite nice given the age, while QPR at full retail would not have been so great. I think it may be a tad past prime for my tastes as I actually like the fresher fruitier flavors of younger Oracle. (688 views)
Tasted by Bob in NC on 9/25/2022 & rated 92 points: Drinking excellent with a bit more time left in the bottle. (727 views)
Tasted by dpohlman on 2/14/2021 & rated 92 points: A little thin, but nice. (1671 views)
Tasted by RichardZula on 12/25/2020: Popped and puree, definitely improved with air, threw little sediment, fine tannins, juicy blue fruit, subtle but pretty nose, very nice, maybe a bit expensive. (1271 views)
Tasted by michaelbro8 on 12/6/2020 & rated 88 points: Decanted for 45 minutes.. dark purple color with medium/ fast legs. Very neutral nose; hints of blackberry. Too mild on the tongue.. some flavors of plum and blackberry, but just not much there. Decent finish, but for this price I would expect much more on my palate (1137 views)
Tasted by Bob in NC on 11/11/2020 & rated 90 points: We like where this 2012 Oracle is right now. Juicy blue and black fruit, balanced with a layer cedar, forest floor, mushrooms, and black pepper. The tannins are mostly integrated and the finish is smooth, tasty and lengthy. Based on this bottle, this vintage should continue to be in our zone for a couple more years. (1096 views)
Tasted by cblinstrub on 5/29/2020 & rated 91 points: Nice. Integrated. Easy drinking. Not very complex. (1534 views)
Tasted by Decanting Queen on 8/14/2019: I was going to rate around an 85 but it is possible this was a flawed bottle so I’m withholding the rating. Very restrained to the point of nothingness. Low intensity on the nose, not much fruit. Nothing there to enjoy. Coravined a glass and couldn’t drink it but thought maybe it needed air. Exactly the same on day 2. I don’t notice obvious cork taint but maybe when I open the bottle and give it some air it will be a more definitive experience one way or the other. Bummer at this price point. (2643 views)
Tasted by Lockareff on 7/17/2019 & rated 91 points: Nice wine but $85 for a 91 point offering - seriously?? Price point should be no more than $50. The 2015 just went on sale for $125!! I think the Trump stock market has gone too far! (1264 views)
Tasted by John McCabe on 3/16/2019 & rated 94 points: This was delecious and inviting. Serious dark fruit at first, which opened up quickly. Drinking great. Wish I had more. Bought directly at the winery, which is a very nice place to visit, with lovely views of Silverado Trail. (1512 views)
Tasted by WineCPA on 9/27/2018 & rated 88 points: If the price was $40 less this would be a 93-95 point wine. Unfortunately I paid list price. And it's not a great qpr. It's a good wine. Average napa cab with red fruit upfront. Quaff now. (1767 views)
Tasted by JeremyBernton on 6/30/2018 & rated 91 points: Blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot, 3% Malbec, and 3% Petit Verdot all from Stagecoach Vineyard in Napa
————————
Nice nose of loamy earth and dark fruit. Nicely balanced and refined palate. Black and red fruit were somewhat muted, but a nice change from over the top fruit bombs. Really nice mid palate with some dusty earth and enough acidity. Slightly short finish and tannins already mostly resolved, but went really well with burgers. I would say this is drinking close to peak, but no rush on these. (1770 views)
Tasted by gew71walsh on 5/19/2018 & rated 90 points: Dark plum in color. Blackberries and plum on nose and palate. Integrated with some complex secondary flavors of cedar. Lingered on the palate. Paired well with a pasta dish. (1148 views)
Tasted by tlcaa5 on 1/6/2018 & rated 91 points: Decanted 1 1/2 hours prior to our anniversary dinner. Blackberry and black currants on nose and palate. Tannins seem to be softening as there is a silky texture evolving. Medium/long finish. Sadly no more bottles. (1684 views)
Tasted by tlcaa5 on 1/6/2018 & rated 91 points: Decanted 90 mind prior to anniversary dinner. Blackberry and black currants on nose and palate. Tannins seem to be softening as there is a silky texture evolving. Medium/long finish. Sadly no more bottles. (1957 views)
Tasted by bestdamncab on 6/30/2017 & rated 91 points: Tasted at Miner Family today, nose of black cherry, blackberry, and black currants, same on the palate, medium/big body, has softened and more mellow than previous tastings, lovely and rich fruit, seems slightly short on fruit today, needs 2 years to peak, and a medium/long finish. (2495 views)
Tasted by Vinophiliac559 on 5/6/2017 & rated 90 points: Primarily salted caramel corn on the nose, some dark fruit compote also. Very rich and ripe. Hard to get a grasp on this wine as it was brought out to us while drinking some much older wines which could have influenced tasting. 88-90 (2330 views)
Tasted by Snoski62 on 3/2/2017 & rated 91 points: Probably jumped the gun on this one. Dark fruits and spice in the mouth with a little bit of leather/smoke on the finish. Not too sweet. Nice combination for a Napa Cab. Would benefit from a bit more aging, though. Nice wine! (2340 views)
Tasted by bestdamncab on 11/25/2016 & rated 90 points: At Miner Family this morning, nose of black cherry, blackberry, and black currants, same on the palate, big body, medium amount of soft tannins present, lots of fruit but tight today, soft tannins showing, needs time to peak, about 3 years, tasty, and a medium/long finish. (2350 views)
Tasted by bestdamncab on 10/12/2016 & rated 91 points: At Miner Family today, nose of black cherry, blackberry, and black currants, same on the palate, big body, lots of fruit but tight today, soft tannins showing, needs 4 years to peak, tasty, not as nice as the last time tasted but every bottle is different, and a medium/long finish. (2388 views)
Tasted by bestdamncab on 9/2/2016 & rated 93 points: At Miner Family today, nose of black cherry, blackberry, black currants, and a touch of mocha, same on the palate, big body, lots of fruit to taste, needs 3/4 years to peak, very tasty, have tasted every vintage of this wine and it only gets better with age, half way between California Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux, medium/long finish. Miner Family The Oracle

The Oracle is an exceptionally balanced, full-bodied red blend made from grapes grown at Stagecoach Vineyard in the eastern hills of Napa Valley.
In Greek mythology, the oracle was a source of inspiration and revelation. We hope that you will find the answers to life’s most compelling questions while enjoying The Oracle with friends and family.

Red Bordeaux Blend

Red Bordeaux is generally made from a blend of grapes. Permitted grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and rarely Carménère.Today Carménère is rarely used, with Château Clerc Milon, a fifth growth Bordeaux, being one of the few to still retain Carménère vines. As of July 2019, Bordeaux wineries authorized the use of four new red grapes to combat temperature increases in Bordeaux. These newly approved grapes are Marselan, Touriga Nacional, Castets, and Arinarnoa.

Wineries all over the world aspire to making wines in a Bordeaux style. In 1988, a group of American vintners formed The Meritage Association to identify wines made in this way. Although most Meritage wines come from California, there are members of the Meritage Association in 18 states and five other countries, including Argentina, Australia, Canada, Israel, and Mexico.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
