Tasted by ddgd on 4/8/2023 & rated 90 points: Leaning towards the end of its shelf life so drink up if in your inventory. Medium plus, decent finish and legs. (323 views)
Tasted by ddgd on 1/13/2019 & rated 90 points: Smooth, ready upon opening. Second glass started to lose its legs and depth. Medium plus, dry but structurally smooth. (1279 views)
Tasted by kevrob822 on 4/18/2018 & rated 88 points: This was still very nice, but I’ve got to drop at two points. I opened it and decanted it for almost 2 hours.

Color was still nice, dark read – black and clear. The aroma, which was very nice upon the opening, has faded away significantly. Same with the taste, which initially was very similar to my last bottle in February. Very interesting transition on this. My last bottle and I actually wish I had more, so I could compare.

Have to say, I may be disagreeing with some of the other comments that stated this had a few years remaining. I will vouch for the winery that make this, their standard wines are Spectacular, some of the best value Cabernets in Napa and very age-worthy. To be completely transparent, I am also a member of their wine club and the price for this Secoya Cellars CS was what I pay for their core CS offering. (1830 views)
Tasted by The Beldens on 3/22/2018 & rated 90 points: Much better when allowed to open up. As I mentioned with my previous post, has a few years to run in the bottle. (1768 views)
Tasted by kevrob822 on 2/11/2018 & rated 90 points: A delicious Rutherford Cabernet with a Superb QPR. I think this was a bit of an “experiment” from the winemaker of very large and well-known Napa Valley winery (of which I'm a wine club member of :-)).

Overall, this is a big, round, fruit forward and powerful CS that is just perfect with a big grilled piece of meat! Aroma was awesome with great dark fruit, taste follows along with Earth, oak, black fruit, dark cherries and plum. And to be fair, the winery that actually makes this is in the middle of Rutherford and I taste a boatload of Rutherford Dust in it!!!

This is just really good stuff, especially at $25! I believe it’s sold out and this experiment has been put to bed though, bummer. (1817 views)
Tasted by armenm72 on 1/28/2018 & rated 91 points: Fruit forward and big cab. Delicious and a bargain (1670 views)
Tasted by ddgd on 10/17/2017 & rated 91 points: Very affordable entry Cali Cab for this producer of much larger traditional Napa Rutherford Cabs. Very similar with previous bottle, round tannins, decent nose and long oak finish. (1447 views)
Tasted by ddgd on 10/16/2017 & rated 91 points: First off, amazing QPR as big as their name. Big and bold, also like their name. Great on the nose, well planted tannins, long finish, oak presence and deep garnet in presentation. Held up great over three days and is drinking great now with aeration but will continue to age nicely for many years to come. (998 views)
Tasted by The Beldens on 2/24/2017 & rated 90 points: Solid 2012 just hitting the drinking window. Needs about an hour decant but I really enjoyed it. (1940 views)
Tasted by John Novak on 2/17/2017: I Let it breathe for 4 ours kinda young for me. Great nose great finish comparable to higher end Rutherford s in my cellar but a great value. I like it ! (1932 views)
Tasted by Bricks on 3/30/2016 & rated 92 points: Really enjoyable and was a crowd pleaser. Not that easy to find, but haven't gone wrong with any of the Secoya varietals. This had a nice nose, and long typical napa aftertaste. I'd put it in more of the entry level cab category, but a definite leader in the space. (3076 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
