In the glass, light gold and , and a nose that develops to show bruised cider apples, waxy lanolin, yeasty dough, quince, saline green olives, and high notes of lemon mousse and gingery melon. On the palate, it is really mouthwatering - quite viscous and rich , with flavours of fresh Granny Smith apples, playing off against the gingery acidity. The finish is long, saline and chalky. Notes are from last glass on third day bottle that bottle has been open. Deep gold color, defined meniscus. Rich nose with ripe apple, citrus, alcohol, mineral. Same rich flavors in the mouth with solid acidity to back them up. Wish I had a bunch of these. The nose is a rich cocktail of green apple,candied apple and pineapple, quince,apricot, wet hay, savoury herbs, saline green olives, fresh yeast, and a developing muskiness. Dry as a bone, acidity is high, but with a viscous mouthfeel. The palate is full of the flavour of cooked apples. Classic young Vouvray sec,this wine is deliciously refreshing today, but will develop in complexity over the next 5-10 years. (1381 views) |
