Tasted by Rbhan12 on 11/1/2021 & rated 88 points: Absolutely massive wine--too big for my tastes. PnP, bottle left open, aired out for a few hours.

Very strong nose. Definitely alcohol, but think of ripe red cherries, slightly medicinal, oaky milk chocolate. Palate is full-bodied, jammy red fruit, light acid, some eventually presents, and a good amount of glycerin giving the wine a smooth but thick texture. Finish is pretty hot, but mostly red fruit and hints of cinnamon and other baking spices, maybe even a touch of cola.

Overall, I thought this was unbalanced, overripe, and overtly alcoholic. Could be a party wine for people to get drunk, but I wouldn't consider this a serious wine. With respect to the size of this wine, there is no scenario in which I would have imagined this being Merlot.

Drink now--not for the cellar and certainly not intended to be. The fruit may quiet down, but this won't gain complexity. (848 views)
Tasted by SlimShaney on 7/26/2019 & rated 90 points: Out camping with family. Thoroughly enjoying. Brash and bit peppery on the back of the throat. Ok in a plastic cups. (1549 views)
Tasted by RoyaltyCoins on 4/16/2019 & rated 89 points: Medium Ruby.

Nose: Candied black cherry, raspberry jam, deep brown sugar and vanilla. Full projection.

Mouth: Deep, pure black cherry seamlessly melded to a mid palate of milk chocolate and baking spice. Light acid leads into a short finish of fine tannin and light cinnamon.

Overall: Velvety and easy drinking, this is lush and well integrated with itself without ever becoming flabby. Leans rich in all - a crowdpleaser. 100% Merlot

Tasted by Mads Eriksen on 12/11/2018 & rated 89 points: høj drinkabillity. Masser af frugt, masser af alkohol, men det passer fint sammen. (1635 views)
Tasted by SlimShaney on 11/30/2018 & rated 90 points: Fun and easy going (in a big Molly way). Not intellectual and not complex and not particularly merlot. (1677 views)
Tasted by SlimShaney on 8/19/2018 & rated 90 points: Tonnes of Molly fun even if a bit party trashy. 89 technically but added a point for fun. Rich but thin. Lush Molly merlot middle, soaked in vanilla steel oak, but thin finish with sugary acid.

What's the world's highest all merlot? At 15.5 (and I recall a higher alc year) must be Scooter. - just checked my notes - 2013 Scooter was 17.5%! More! More! More! (1401 views)

Merlot

Merlot is a dark blue–colored wine grape variety, that is used as both a blending grape and for varietal wines. The name Merlot is thought to be a diminutive of merle, the French name for the blackbird, probably a reference to the color of the grape. Its softness and "fleshiness", combined with its earlier ripening, makes Merlot a popular grape for blending with the sterner, later-ripening Cabernet Sauvignon, which tends to be higher in tannin.
