Nicely done syrah! Could be great someday (2014 views) | | Tasted by Savi Sommilier on 12/2/2018 & rated 89 points: Solid weekday Syrah from Central California that becomes more elegant after a couple hours of decanting when less than 5 years old. Lots of jammy black fruit, spice on the back palate, and grippy tannins. The lack of matched acidity to the heavy tannin profile made this wine a bit harder to drink without the 2 hour decant but once we hit the 2 hr mark it really started to open up. Serve at a slight chill and you'll enjoy this New World version of Syrah. (2136 views) | | Tasted by mark.gularte@gmail.com on 11/22/2018 & rated 90 points: Deep red, lots of dark berry, good tannins, went well with sauted brussels and smoked turkey (1028 views) | | Tasted by Nati Winos on 10/30/2018: Needs to be an I love it button. Warm fruity goodness. Delicious! Take the advice and open at least 30 minutes. We love it! (1004 views) | | Tasted by Deryck on 10/21/2018 & rated 90 points: Nice syrah with black fruit flavors and refined tannins. Definitely open and let breathe for 30 to 60 minutes. Very enjoyable; wish I had more than the 1 bottle. (750 views) | | Tasted by JimmyR on 10/7/2018 & rated 91 points: loved this one! really good (579 views) | | Tasted by Kcornett on 8/21/2018 & rated 89 points: Nice Syrah with black fruit. Much better after allowing to breath for about 30 minutes. (484 views) | | Tasted by Dr. Bee on 4/30/2018 & rated 90 points: Had a slab of dry rub pork ribs in the oven and this little gem arrived today. Lots of spice on opening, promises to unlock fruit soon. Should be a winner! Ordering more. 2016 savant should be a beast! (692 views) |
| Justin Vineyards & Winery Producer websiteSyrah Varietal article (Wikipedia) | (Wines Northwest)
Note that some producers in the Northern Rhone distinguish between simply Syrah and "Serine", the latter described as ‘an ancient clone of Syrah, the berries of which are more oval-shaped and less deeply pigmented than Syrah’ by producer Tardieu-Laurent. USAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Central Coasthttp://www.ccwinegrowers.org/links.html
