Tasted by D3S on 3/17/2017 & rated 92 points: Very big, powerful wine, nice nose, fruit and balanced tannins with long finish. Paired well with bone in ribeye. (2331 views)
Tasted by wine4lux on 7/23/2016 & rated 88 points: Solid and balanced, a decent Napa cab, but didn't seem to match its price. OK, but not memorable. (2711 views)
Tasted by Billiken on 5/30/2014 & rated 89 points: Young. Needs time, but nice fruit starting to come through. (4512 views)
Tasted by ClubTerry on 10/13/2012 & rated 93 points: PNP at restaurant was was soft and smooth from the outset. Open more over the course of dinner to reveal nice depth of Flavors with nice long finish. (5709 views)
Tasted by Chrispx on 6/24/2012 & rated 93 points: Very nice nose intense flavors and nice integrated tannins (4445 views)
Tasted by Jeff Leve on 4/30/2012 & rated 92 points: Plump, plush and ripe, with fresh, soft blackberry, vanilla, earth and a touch of licorice, this is already offered pleasure. (3983 views)
Tasted by StlAndy on 12/25/2011 & rated 91 points: Rating this a 91 now but expect it to get much better. Stil tight. Decanted for 1.5 hours before drinking. Blackberries, chocolate, and oak nose. Great tasting wine. Not overly tannic. Clings to the roof of the mouth and lingers. Taste confirmed the nose of blackberry and chocolate. Very enjoyable but I think the best days are ahead for this one. (4130 views)
Tasted by Justin B on 11/5/2011 & rated 94 points: Really nice Cab. Drank over two nights... surprisingly good on the first night without much air and slightly better on the second night. A bit lighter bodied than most Cabs, but great nose of blueberries and taste of cassis, a little cedar and subtle spice. This one is just barely ready to drink... and while I think it is about a 93-94 for me today, with likely potential for 94-95 over the next 5-10 years, I'm settling for a 94. (2494 views)
Tasted by joshwoodward on 7/25/2011 & rated 89 points: Vanguard (Columbus, OH): Sweet, tannic, simple for the price. (3065 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
