Community Tasting Notes (average 89 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 2 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by jeremy_ross on 8/17/2009: First port. Nose was mainly alcohol with a hint of caramelized sugar. Taste was dominated by cigar tobacco, moderately sweet. Hesitant to score since this was my first port, but if forced, I'd say 85 points. (1819 views)

Port Blend

Over a hundred varieties of grapes (castas) are sanctioned for port production, although only five (Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Touriga Francesa, and Touriga Nacional) are widely cultivated and used.
