Tasted by Morten & Morten on 1/2/2024 & rated 94 points: Well it was balanced and mature. Don’t keep it for too long. (289 views)
Tasted by braised on 12/26/2022: Epic last bottle of the vintage in the cellar. Served with Christmas cassoulet, the wine had mellowed but showed remarkable fruit meshed with forest floor. Long finish. Just remarkable. (938 views)
Tasted by WoodieBayArea on 12/19/2022 & rated 95 points: I have only given 95 or 96 pts about 1% of the time, but this wine deserved it completely, this was light on it feet / elegant / bright & shiny with good acidity, but nonetheless have heft / punch... everyone loved it, with bold Syrah fruit but the complexity that I find comes with Mourvèdre.... yummy, unfortunately I bought this for less than $100 and now it costs around $500 to $600 (965 views)
Tasted by acyso on 9/23/2022 & rated 93 points: Montréal; 9/23/2022-9/24/2022 (Montréal, QC): At Rouge Gorge. A very impressive wine with plenty of syrah notes on the nose -- brine, olives, and all that. Definitely feels like a wine with some Northern Rhône sensibilities. On the palate this is incredibly rich and there is so much fruit it leaves you with a distinct sensation of sweetness. High acidity but tannins that are very much dialled in. A pleasure to try, but at the going tariff, a much less convincing sell. (1752 views)
Tasted by LB88 on 11/26/2021 & rated 95 points: Just exquisite tonight with basque food. Even better than the previous bottle. (1512 views)
Tasted by Morten & Morten on 10/5/2021 & rated 90 points: A bit ‘over matured’ like some wines from Des Tours. Not 100% fan. (1332 views)
Tasted by braised on 12/27/2020: Opened 2 of the last 3 in the cellar with a Christmas cassoulet. One bottle was thin and vinegar’d, the other aged, mellow and still vibrant. Youth’s jamminess has given way to mulberry and tobacco. (1325 views)
Tasted by Hanibal on 7/19/2020 & rated 92 points: Southern france style flavors with no alcohol or weight whatsoever....i don't have allot but surely worth buying more of. Needs time at least 10y to get in a good drinking place (2009 views)
Tasted by WoodieBayArea on 4/20/2020: hmmm... have loved these wines from different vintages over time, but this is my first '08 and it disappointed... super cloudy and I'm wondering if this is an off bottle?... palate was a little off and we then opened a '10 and it rocked... hope my last two '08's are better... will refrain from rating, tho not 100% certain this is flawed (1570 views)
Tasted by Mithras on 8/6/2019 & rated 93 points: Smelled of earthy fruit, dry leaves and clay and was very showy and rich, complex - with very little tannin - and though powerful - was quite elegant. It evolved a lot over the following hour - and all for the better. Tasted with herbed rack of lamb and greek salad which was well suited to enjoying this unique and interesting wine. Gave it a 1 hour decant. Would propose 1 1/2 hours if offered the chance to drink again. (1741 views)
Tasted by Sen4469 on 11/24/2018 & rated 94 points: Delicious. Great acidity and balance for this powerful wine. A lot of life ahead. Very good. (1930 views)
Tasted by dream on 8/29/2018 & rated 93 points: Quite mature with a texture of pure velvet and no tannins whatsoever. Quite thick in the mouth with delicious dark raspberry and cherry fruits and a nice, savory mouthfeel. Finishes with good complexity and jammy notes but not in a bad way. Loved this with the duck preparation at Racine's. Business & Wine Society Summer dinner. (1825 views)
Tasted by renapen on 5/12/2016 & rated 95 points: The wine looks tawny colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like forest floor and plum. It tastes like tea and tobacco. This wine came to its full maturity hours after opening. (3732 views)
Tasted by Vinsten on 1/30/2016 & rated 95 points: Gorgeous wine. Raspberries and cherries. Very elegant wine from a cooler vintage. This beauty will last 10 years+ but is access able now. (3513 views)
Tasted by cardsandwine on 1/3/2016: 2 hour slo-o. Gorgeous fruity bouquet. Starts out on the palate with a touch of sweetness that becomes integrated into the wine after 30 minutes. Great balance and complexity with a long velvety finish. Quite a nice wine. (3334 views)
Tasted by sebastienjm on 5/31/2015 & rated 94 points: Finesse et complexité incroyable, petite merveille (3790 views)
Tasted by fdusonchet on 10/12/2014 & rated 99 points: Un poil entêtant mais quelle puissance quel délicatesse etc. quelle longueur (4540 views)
Tasted by Georgewoods on 4/2/2014 & rated 95 points: Amazing (3395 views)
Tasted by petitblanc on 2/28/2014: One hour decant. Pretty, deep, carmine-garnet color. Nose of dark candied fruits, a touch fumy. Very sweet on the palate, with alcohol coming forward strongly through the finish. Lacking character, generic New World style, impossible with food. Not scored, this might have benefited slightly from a long decant. (2953 views)
Tasted by fdusonchet on 2/14/2014 & rated 100 points: Perfect nez de garrigue de iode d'épice bouche juteuse pleine de fruit complexe et riche (3204 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 2/7/2014 & rated 90 points: A business dinner (Restaurant Aan de Poel **, Amstelveen, NL): Initially quite farmyardy; this blows off slightly but still unusually garrigue-ey; layered and ekegant but without the clean subtlety of the best vintages. (2797 views)
Tasted by skurtz on 12/7/2013 & rated 92 points: Sampled at with tasting menu at 90 acres. Nice balance of fruit and acidity. Cinnamon chocolate and red fruit. (2118 views)
94 pts (2630 views)
J’adore. 91+ (3609 views)
