Tasted by rmcnees on 4/9/2023 & rated 92 points: Butter colored, medium bodied, bold full but nicely balanced flavors of citrus, pear and melon with notes of floral and almond on a pleasantly dry moderately acid finish.

Tasted by fred o. on 8/15/2021: Deep golden color.
Nose some lemon and golden orange.
Palate golden fruit, buttery.

From a particular Cali style of ripe crowd pleasing Chard... perhaps a bit over the hill, but who's to say? YMMV. (295 views)
Tasted by SandmanFL on 8/1/2018 & rated 92 points: Enjoyed very much (1945 views)
Tasted by wine4lux on 11/3/2017 & rated 90 points: Served at a football game weekend with friends, the FN Chardonnay is always a hit with this group, consistent, approachable, rich and balanced- tropical fruit and apple with baking spice. (2273 views)
Tasted by Scamber on 10/8/2017 & rated 91 points: Fresh and crisp, faded lemon, plenty of acidity, lots of length but not too many layers. Oak is fully integrated, age has done well here. (2460 views)
Tasted by Col.Harding on 11/12/2015 & rated 89 points: a little oaken than i prefer but clean and crisp and nicely balanced. (4191 views)
Tasted by bengti on 10/24/2014 & rated 93 points: slight tinge of gold, clean gourmand in the mouth and then a satisfying development of nuts, honey, toast, pear as the wine resolves to the finish, which wasnt short. A great choice for frequent drinking. (5241 views)
Tasted by Glharv on 7/25/2014 & rated 88 points: Color: Lemon-straw yellow. Relatively clean nose of oak, vanilla, rosemary and alcohol. Honey and lemon palate. Medium+ finish. Overall somewhat overwrought and over-hot (14.3% ABV) (4036 views)
Tasted by tjchapman on 6/14/2014 & rated 91 points: Very nice, well balanced chardonnay. Hints of pear and apple with a touch of honey. Very smooth and enjoyable. Flavorful from beginning to end. (3686 views)
Tasted by jdpearse on 4/13/2014 & rated 93 points: A great chardonnay. Slight malolactic fermentation and great fruit balance (3758 views)
Tasted by bobv on 1/4/2014 & rated 92 points: This is one our most favorite California chardonnays. It could easily pass for an European Chardonnay. It's smooth, latex taste coupled with very subtle flavors yields an exceptional wine. (2998 views)
Tasted by vine20 on 12/25/2013 & rated 92 points: Light yellow color, thin viscosity with an ascetic, lemony, sweet nose. Baked apple and pear with medium body and depth. Some acid in the finish. (2221 views)
Tasted by SMZ on 12/14/2013 & rated 92 points: Delicious. I'm not a huge fan of most Chardonnays but this one had a lot of nice things going for it...complexity, balance, flavor and finish. (2008 views)
Tasted by Dtsommer on 6/15/2013 & rated 91 points: Smooth, buttery and crisp. Served with an almond sponge cake and was amazing. Could easily drink on the patio in summertime. (3080 views)
Tasted by JS1056 on 6/5/2013 & rated 90 points: Elegant Chardonnay. Citrus pear and almond with toasted oak tieing it together. (2493 views)
Tasted by Porchino on 4/13/2013 & rated 92 points: Delious at mustards with crab cake (2655 views)
Tasted by mfrankel2 on 3/24/2013 & rated 84 points: I missed the oak and butter other drinkers referred to. Seemed out of balance and a bit young. (2468 views)
Tasted by RockinCabs on 1/27/2013 & rated 87 points: Classically tropical and buttery chardonnay. Two glasses is enough of this pineapple, baked apple and vanilla loaded chardonnay. Badly needs some balance with acid. Not a butter bomb, but the malo is noticeable. Drank with a seafood casarole of shrimp, scallops, fish filet and lobster. (3025 views)
Tasted by Benj on 12/25/2012 & rated 89 points: Funny - considering how much I have heard people complain about how sweet/oaky/rich this wine is, my experience (as someone who doesn't really love oak that much) was that this was pretty bland. Not bland as in tasteless, but bland as in "What is this doing for me at $45 that I can't get from any $30 CA Chardonnay?" Based on this bottle, I can't recommend a purchase. Will try again somewhere down the line. I will say that it finishes surprisingly clean, in a good way. (2527 views)

Chardonnay

The Chardonnay Grape

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
