Tasted by redz on 7/10/2019 & rated 91 points: really smooth, heavily oaked, nice for the vintage. (985 views)
Tasted by JustBad on 9/27/2018 & rated 92 points: WSET Level 2 Class; 9/13/2018-11/4/2018 (The Texas Wine School): Very good quality Cabernet Sauvignon that is clear, deep ruby in color. On the nose, it's clean with a medium intensity. It has aromas and flavors of black cherry, black current, blueberry, cooked plum, honey, oak, vanilla, tobacco, leather, baking spice, savory mushroom, toast, and clove. On the palate, it's dry with medium acidity, high tannins, full body, and a medium finish.

This is a wonderful example of what an Alexander Valley Cab should be. Very smooth tannins and fairly complex, older characteristics without tasting "old". Could have only been better with a longer finish and a little more body and intensity. Would be great with a steak for sure! (1365 views)
Tasted by somersetwine on 4/16/2017 & rated 89 points: Taste this wine about a year ago and gave it 75 points but opened over the weekend and was very nice for the price. Gave it 89 points. This wine had nice color......rose in color, full body and finished well. (1664 views)
Tasted by dfitzg2 on 3/30/2017 & rated 89 points: Great as a complement to a red wine stew. (1645 views)
Tasted by smoss on 1/13/2017 & rated 88 points: Good California Cab. Some smoky, tobacco notes. Well balanced with medium acidity. Drank better after decanting. (1596 views)
Tasted by vamootsman on 8/15/2016 & rated 90 points: Really nice wine for the price. Dark color and fruits. Heavy Alcohol nose til it sat for a couple of hours. Tobacco too. I really like this one. Hopefully I have another bottle somewhere in the rack. (1131 views)
Tasted by mischwine on 5/21/2016 & rated 91 points: a wonderful wine - a nice reflection of how good Alexander Valley wines can be. elegant...nice long finish...
The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. (1090 views)
Tasted by StraightnoChaser on 6/14/2015 & rated 88 points: 2015 CELLAR REDUCTION. Soft, smooth Alexander Valley cab. Red fruits with raspberry and cocoa notes. Well made considering the oceans of wine they put out. I have never been disappointed with this wine through many vintages. Great buy at $10 (1262 views)
Tasted by Bandreas on 4/25/2015 & rated 87 points: Obviously parkerized, lots of sweet jammy fruit. Wine struggles to show some personality beneath the stereotype... (1357 views)
Tasted by kylerogers on 11/15/2014 & rated 90 points: Solid Sonoma Cab and a great QPR. On the nose I get eucalyptus, jalapeño, dried tobacco, and milk chocolate. On the palate, I get cassis and eucalyptus. (1687 views)
Tasted by jedwilson on 10/31/2014 & rated 89 points: Martini cabernets continue to be a outstanding wine, especially for it's price point. This 2011 Alexander Valley effort drinks best 24-48 hours from first opening the bottle. Nicely balanced, with a great finish with plum and earthy berry flavor, this is a great everyday drinking wine. Recommend for just that purpose! (1817 views)
Tasted by isaacjamesbaker on 7/22/2014 & rated 88 points: Some Blind Cali Cabs: Bright purple color. Lovely currants and black cherry sauce on the nose, some cedar, pencil shavings and roasted coffee. On the palate this wine is juicy and approachable with fine tannins and some fresh acid. Juicy and fleshy, with black cherry and currant fruit, some underlying cola, vanilla and root beer. An undeniably fun and tasty wine that delivers droves of happiness but also shows some complexity. Some dust, tobacco and bell pepper note slinger on the finish. Some decent structure, but seems ready for business. ($35) (2077 views)
Tasted by daveyleis1 on 7/18/2014 & rated 89 points: No brainer, easy drinking. Great with cheeses, bread, pasta, or a steak. Bought 4 cases for those of my friends who might like a medium wine and for those who don't know anything about wine. (1365 views)
Tasted by allensounhein on 4/2/2014 & rated 90 points: very good and enjoyed with pasta and spinach
very good price on the 2011 in Sams (1580 views)
Tasted by dfitzg2 on 3/26/2014 & rated 90 points: Need time to open, but then was bright, clear, lots of magic and a smooth finish. (1262 views)
Tasted by dfitzg2 on 3/22/2014 & rated 90 points: excellent cab! (1226 views)
Tasted by Martnmac on 2/7/2014 & rated 89 points: The buyers bites said 94 points. That a little over rated. But still a solid lively drinking cab. Nice blueberry notes. Black Licorice a little oak and sandal wood. Overall a decent cali cab especially for price (1093 views)
Tasted by Lax4 on 12/28/2013 & rated 88 points: Great everyday drinking wine (1138 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
