Tasted by CWRF on 12/25/2023 & rated 93 points: Bottle in excellent condition. Decanted gently as great deal of sediment. Nose showed zero hints of the TCA described in older Cockburns. Great mature port with powerful nose of dark cherries, prune, fig, pepper, leather. Long intense finish. Had opened up further when finished the next day. Great port. (@Home) (476 views)
Tasted by Harley1199 on 11/30/2023: Just a few drops. Tasted separately during the whole week preventing fatigue. Difficult to define. Vulgar on the nose. Simple on the palate. Still good? Simply fair IMHO.

Solo unas gotas. Catado por separado durante toda una semana evitando la correspondiente fatiga. Difícil de definir. Vulgar en nariz. Simple al paladar. ¿Todavía bueno? Simplemente justito en mi humilde opinión. (717 views)
Tasted by MObiker on 10/25/2023 flawed bottle: Corked. Down the drain... (636 views)
Tasted by Sebastian80 on 3/4/2023 & rated 94 points: Complex and wonderful on the nose. Great condition. Mulberry and dried fruit, fudge, coffee and chocolate. Medium (+) body.
Slightly of balance in terms of alcohol (high), but long finish. (1277 views)
Tasted by GetSwanked on 12/25/2022 & rated 94 points: After reading notes from others regarding the many flawed bottles of this vintage, I opened this port on Christmas Eve with low expectations. But after a decant of roughly 24 hours, I am reminded of why aged vintage port is one of the world’s great wines. On the nose are notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, Asian tea, and a hint of vanilla…complex but still fresh, vibrant and inviting. Light garnet in color, with various shades of bright amber towards the rim. On the palate: wonderfully balanced with med acidity and smooth tannins still present to help offset the thick, sappy medley of rich red fruit. Long finish, and a wonderful accompaniment to our Christmas morning. (1330 views)
Tasted by vagrantone on 12/18/2022 flawed bottle: I have to agree with the TCA notes unfortunately.
This became an opportunity to try the "seran wrap trick" for the first time.
I was , of course, sceptical but admit that the process has some validity...
It's almost like a fining.
The original TCA level was sufficiently high that the wine would have been dumped down the drain, so why not give it a go?
The wine was decanted to get it off the sediment.
Glad cling wrap, made from polyethylene, was rolled up and inserted into the decanted. The wine was swirled and given significant contact time.
The aromas were slightly muted on the nose, where a very faint note of TCA remained. The real improvement was on the palate where the TCA was not noticeable and the wine showed reasonably interesting and intense aromatics.
At least, this treatment made the wine enjoyable with a variety of desserts... (1176 views)
Tasted by theportguy on 4/30/2022 & rated 93 points: Red, White and a Rarity (Sammamish, Washington): If you get a good bottle of this Port, it is one of the best of the Vintage. However, this Port has a history of TCA, which usually increases as the wine gets more exposure to air, so it was only splash decanted just prior to consumption. Dark amber in color. Raspberry, cinnamon, and red currant on the nose. Rich mouthfeel with red fruit and chocolate, and a light touch of spirit. Nice long finish. (1796 views)
Tasted by vagrantone on 3/1/2022 flawed bottle: slightly corked. Just enough to rob the wine of its elegance.
A shame... (1666 views)
Tasted by 2 Utes on 2/13/2022 & rated 92 points: Beautiful vintage wine. 1/3 cup of sludge at the bottom of the bottle Love wine. Faint nose. Amber coloring of the wine. Cork mostly intact 3/4 bleed through of cork. Excellent wine (1302 views)
Tasted by pilot360 on 2/12/2022 flawed bottle: Marred by VA , never blew off, even after 4 days in decant. (1285 views)
Tasted by Wine_Poobah on 6/6/2021 & rated 95 points: Complex aroma, notes of raisin, fig, orange zest, dried pineapple, dried fruits, apricot, and ginger candies. Super perfumed aroma. Delicious syrupy berry flavors, dried figs, maraschino cherries, jam, and prunes. Very tasty and ageworthy. Drink or hold, tons of life left. (1818 views)
Tasted by englishman's claret on 11/8/2020 & rated 92 points: Good; slightly spirity but not aggressive, blackberry, black pepper, anise. Very nice black-fruited palate. Drinking well now. (3131 views)
Tasted by vagrantone on 7/2/2020 & rated 93 points: Another great showing for this wine.
Decanted just prior to serving.
Beautifully evolved and complext aromas with enough structure to still hold everything together.
Really nice! (2185 views)
Tasted by vagrantone on 10/8/2019 & rated 93 points: This vintage Port is still drinking extremely well.
Fascinating evolution over three days in the decanter with aromas evolving considerably and the wine losing its slightly alcoholic scent.
It gained a considerable amount of complexity and softness over these 3 days while the aromas gained greater clarity and intensity.
This vintage Port should continue to age nicely for another 10+ years.
I currently prefer it on day 3. (2797 views)

Tasted by JWG on 10/10/2018 & rated 96 points: Like the bottle two years ago, this was phenomenal. See my note from 2016. (3084 views)
Tasted by vagrantone on 2/5/2018 & rated 93 points: Beautiful vintage port, drinking extremely well now.
Plenty of fruit with spicy background. Impeccable balance with plenty of intensity. Rich texture and a finish that keeps on going (3452 views)
Tasted by Ralph_ on 2/2/2018 & rated 90 points: Original corked bottle (3194 views)
Tasted by jeagle on 12/24/2017 & rated 95 points: Absolutely loved this bottle the first night, but it did lose energy by night two. Burnt sugar, fig jam, tobacco, just an array of wonderful flavors. (2955 views)
Tasted by empire80 on 10/23/2017 & rated 92 points: Another good bottle, very similar to my last note. (2654 views)
Tasted by jmoore431 on 7/12/2017 & rated 92 points: Rich red fruits, wonderfully fragrant and at peak. (3104 views)
Tasted by rmalloy on 5/7/2017 & rated 91 points: Delicious. The fruit is still strong. Chocolate-covered raisins and dried red cherries with mint and leather. I keep thinking of Andes mints. This isn't in the WS/WA 95-100 ballpark for me, but it's a very good port.

Aside: I'm sick of port corks, like this one, that crumble apart. It's a port problem, not a cork problem. I often drink old Sauternes, and those corks rarely crumble. (2601 views)
Tasted by Chimer on 3/29/2017 flawed bottle: Lightly corked, initially this just seemed to be musty, but as it had time in the decanter it became ever more marked. A great shame as the wine beneath looked extremely promising. The colour had paled and was translucent, initially the fruit intensity almost overcame the taint - a clean bottle must be a fabulous wine - the alcohol seemed well knit. (2779 views)
Tasted by winemaker on 11/24/2016 & rated 95 points: This is a big layered and complex port. Very long finish. Thank God, it is not corked like the last bottle. (3028 views)
Tasted by JWG on 6/13/2016 & rated 97 points: Nose is very very dark cherry with well-integrated alcohol and a bit of grape must and even some hints of citrus, and a palate that has dark fruit, glycerin, tobacco, with wonderful balance overall, and luscious finish. This is very close to the ideal of vintage port. (3407 views)
