Not sure if more time will help. (819 views) | | Tasted by Drankard on 11/28/2021 & rated 94 points: Classically styled Barolo, long finish. A delicious Barolo that over delivers. (1017 views) | | Tasted by flah00 on 7/15/2021 & rated 93 points: Decanted over a few hours Initially strong notes of cherry and liquorice with hints of raspberry As it opened up I found hints of chocolate and truffle Nicely balanced acidity with chewy tannins (1186 views) | | Tasted by Neecies on 2/17/2020: Timmy J's. If wine were a V-8: tomato fruit with celery and white pepper, big acid and tannins. 'Disobedient' indeed. (1394 views) | | Tasted by flah00 on 5/6/2018 & rated 87 points: Tasted initially, pretty light. Decanted over 1-4 hours, tannins came in, tar and roses, bit of fruit. Light finish. Not much going on. Was expecting more. (1747 views) | | Tasted by 87tellub on 2/18/2018 & rated 92 points: Decanted for about 90 minutes and then consumed most of the bottle over the next few hours. It continued to open and the last glass was the best. Nose gives off floral and red fruits. Bit of spice. Palate is dried cherry and tart red fruits. Medium-bodied, slightly juicy midpalate. Dried flowers in the finish. Somewhat grippy but not over the top. Average+ length. Slightly delicate versus what I was thinking, a little more body would have been perfect with the truffle-mushroom ravioli, but still a natural pairing. (1561 views) | | Tasted by LW31 on 1/10/2017: Lovely wine. Still quite young and tight at first (with little on the nose), but started to open and develop after about 30-40 min. Impressive balance and transparency with layers of red cherry, roses, herbs. Think with an hour + decant other bottles would show well--or let rest for another 2-4 years. (1979 views) | | Tasted by gzim on 10/2/2016 & rated 88 points: Nice, but I expected more, more of everything. It was a bit light, on body and finish. I found it greatly overpriced. (1934 views) | | Tasted by Thad on 3/17/2016 & rated 93 points: Really pretty wine. Big floral and fruity nose. Medium body with great balance (1903 views) | | Tasted by Nanda on 10/21/2015 & rated 93 points: Tasting at Alessandro and Gian Natale Fantino (Monforte d'Alba, Piedmont, Italy): Bright, deep ruby. De-classified Riserva bottled as a VdT. Full big nose has red fruit and herb but is un-delineated, stubborn and young relative to 1) a 2011 tasted immediately before this 2010 and 2) the 2010 Cascina Bardi Barolo tasted side-by-side. Palate follows suit and is quite primary with substantial, round and fleshy fruit. Sweeter tannin that sneaks up on you and clamps down the palate. Needs a lot of time to unfold. 92-95 (1631 views) |

| Alessandro e Gian Natale Fantino Producer websiteNebbioloNebbiolo is a red grape indigenous to the Piedmont region of Italy in the Northwest. The grape can also be found in other parts of the world, though they are not as respected.
Nebbiolo is often considered the "king of red wines," as it is the grape of the famed wines of Barolo DOCG, Barbaresco DOCG, and Roero DOCG. It is known for high tannins and acidity, but with a distinct finesse. When grown on clay, Nebbiolo can be very powerful, tannic, and require long aging periods to reach its full potential. When grown on sand, the grape exhibits a more approachable body with more elegant fruit and less tannins, but still has high aging potential.
"Nebbiolo" is named for the Italian word, "nebbia", which means "fog", in Italian and rightfully so since there is generally a lot of fog in the foothills of Piedmont during harvest.
Nebbiolo is a late-ripening variety that does best in a continental climate that boasts moderate summers and long autumns. In Piedmont, Nebbiolo is normally harvested in October.
