Tasted by trastevere on 1/11/2022 & rated 90 points: Pale gold with a green rim. I enjoyed this matured Sauvignon Blanc which has some heft, with an aromatic nose and intense tropical fruits, a mineral streak and a long tangy mandarin finish. (868 views)
Tasted by N.Bonaparte on 9/13/2021 & rated 93 points: 1 hour decant and it was barely opened. Once it opened it is a full bodied, perfectly balanced sauv blanc with a long finish. One of the best valued wines in Napa and from a famed vineyard. This is still 2-5 years from prime and should drink well for another decade. (1109 views)
Tasted by Dominic Roy on 4/18/2020 & rated 87 points: Nose: Melons. Medium intensity.

Palate: Honey. Watermelon. Mostly dry. Subtle acidity.
Medium body.

Finish: Medium finish. (1281 views)
Tasted by Stephen Rash on 3/7/2020 & rated 88 points: Pale golden yellow in color and clear in the glass; Aromas of tropical fruit, cantaloupe, caramel, and lime blossoms on the nose; Grapefruit, lime, and floral notes on the palate; medium body and medium(+) acidity; zesty and crisp finish. (1268 views)
Tasted by PasoWallaWill on 3/1/2019 & rated 89 points: This is a good but not great white wine. A little soft. Tropical fruit nose. Guava, honey, lemon and apricot flavors. Nice but lacking balance and acidity. (1562 views)
Tasted by jeginmt on 11/22/2018 & rated 90 points: A very flavorful white wine. Excellent green apple flavor with nice acidity. Enjoyed by our guests. (1298 views)

Tasted by Tomportwine on 4/5/2018 & rated 88 points: crisp, light, with notes of citrus, melon and flint--a very nice everyday sipper for only $15 (1358 views)
Tasted by Tomportwine on 2/6/2018 & rated 89 points: crisp papaya and lemon, refreshing, forward flinty quality, a nice light quaffer for 20 bucks (1488 views)
Tasted by Coachron13 on 2/5/2018 & rated 88 points: Enjoyable easy drinker. Good QPR. (1212 views)

Tasted by macaujames on 8/16/2017 & rated 88 points: Quite elegant, crisp and grassy in a longilinear and lightly oaked format with good length and freshness. In a Graves style perhaps. (1953 views)
Tasted by Papies on 6/7/2017 & rated 88 points: Fresh, citrus, grassy and green apple. Pleasant and easy drinking, straight to the point wine but not really a memorable one . Good 88 (1771 views)
Tasted by BordeauxBenny on 5/21/2017 & rated 88 points: v nice California sauv blanc. consistent from RM, this SB is always pleasant. not too zesty, some citrus and grassy notes. (1319 views)
Tasted by Cuellar's Cellar on 5/2/2017 & rated 89 points: A great everyday bottle of crisp goodness. (1351 views)

Tasted by sdwineguru on 3/17/2017 & rated 88 points: Mid straw-gold; light new mown hay nose; persimmons; mid-body to soft; easy drinking; semi-crisp; good SB flavor. w/appetizers (1181 views)
Tasted by fc1910 on 3/9/2017: A short Afternoon with some New World-wines (Mövenpick retail store, Hamburg): starting with flavours of wet grass, very fresh therefore on the green side of white wine, granny smith apples, lacking some finesse but rather fullbodied, ending long, for the next 3-5 years? too expensive in Europe for what it is (20€) (1851 views)
Tasted by Millennial Drinkers on 3/4/2017 & rated 89 points: Clear and light yellow. Layered nose with notes of peaches, tropical fruits and a bit grassy too. Great attack, moderate acidity (5/10) and very dry medium finish. Soft notes on the palate like stone fruits. Dryness lingers. Drink till 2019. (1125 views)
Tasted by Halfeel on 2/27/2017 & rated 91 points: Great balance without too much of the fruity sweetness of some CA SBs. The Mondavi Napa Valley Fume Blanc is a consistent performer in this category. (1043 views)
Tasted by jmasterj on 2/20/2017: French influence, wet stone (mineral) and citrus; not typical passion fruit/tropical. Long dry, balanced finished. 93% (1086 views)
Tasted by lawgod on 2/12/2017 & rated 76 points: Excellent color, but the nose was faint and the palate was too overpowering and astringent. Overpriced. (935 views)
Tasted by Virescit Vulnere Virtus on 1/14/2017 & rated 78 points: Tart, dry (483 views)
Tasted by rcvx on 1/7/2017 & rated 89 points: light pale yellow, this sauv blanc has notes of green guava, passion fruit and citric, some interesting minerality, acidity is medium+, medium finish. a light bitterness on the ending. (978 views)
Tasted by Baron Slick on 12/28/2016 & rated 89 points: Kaffir lime, stonefruit, and an elegant whiff of guava on the nose. Juicy, balanced, and bright flavors. Lovely quince-like mouthfeel, crisp acidity, and finishes with a tasty lick of salt. Nice. (1036 views)

Sauvignon Blanc

Varietal Character

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
