(3140 views) | | Tasted by Stefanos T. on 1/30/2011 & rated 87 points: Very light lemony colour. Nose with good intensity of gentle grassy aromas, peach, lemon and even some exotic fruit. Rounded palate with some weight, round and refreshing at the same time. Just seemed to me a little tired, oterwise very nice - haven't tasted a more recent vintage so I cannot really tell. Nectarine. (5096 views) | | Tasted by Salmagner on 5/30/2010 & rated 87 points: Light acidity, medium bodied, scant hints of cities fruit. A touch too alcoholy. (5468 views) | | Tasted by rentmp3 on 4/22/2010 & rated 87 points: Melon on the nose and citrus fruits (grapefruit, lemon) on the palate. Crisp and vibrant, although a little one-dimensional. Quite acidic on the finish and paired well with a tomato-based pasta sauce. Good wine for the price. Drink now. (2999 views) | | Tasted by BoozingIt on 2/21/2010 & rated 83 points: Label: Robert Mondavi created the first Fume Blanc in 1966. A crisp, barrel-aged wine that captured the vivid character of the Sauvignon Blanc grape. Our Fume Blanc exhibits bright citrus, melon, floral and mineral character from Napa Valley vineyards, and a silky texture from sur lie barrel aging.
Review: This 2006 Fume Blanc has the color of watery lemonade. I get aromas of white peaches, lychee, subtle rose pedal and a hint of cantaloupe and baby powder. Flavors of green fruits, peaches, and sprite. Lively acidity on a long finish. (2938 views) | | Tasted by jrlamia on 1/30/2010 & rated 87 points: Grapefruit, mineral (2873 views) | | Tasted by nigelb on 1/4/2010 & rated 88 points: very versatile and has some character. (2995 views) | | Tasted by arass on 11/21/2009 & rated 84 points: crisp sweet and citrusy, but with creamy body. good hot weather wine. very drinkable. flavors of grapefruit and pear. sarah says sweet. I say no. we agree not as sweet as a viogner, but sweeter than souvenon blanc, pinot gris etc. (3073 views) | | Tasted by bmancini15 on 10/19/2009 & rated 92 points: Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm.... Wow, that was nice! Fresh, ripe pear on the nose, great silky texture, acidity right where it should be, good melon and mineral combination, complex yet subtle.. Overall a fantastic wine! (3349 views) | | Tasted by Caudalie on 9/2/2009: éclusée à la pendaison de crémaillère, très bon, classique (3417 views) | | Tasted by tanninbomb on 7/4/2009 & rated 85 points: Heard a lot about this wine but don't understand the excitement.
It was simply "okay" -- lemon (more like sour lemon) prevailed, maybe some apricot or peach, but that was about all. Very little mid-palate and no finish. (3491 views) | | Tasted by Splashy09 on 5/31/2009 & rated 82 points: Nice basic fume blanc. Some citrus, others at the table tasted pear. (3424 views) | | Tasted by justallie on 5/23/2009 & rated 84 points: Maloney & Porcelli Wine Dinner (Maloney & Porcelli restaurant, NYC): Some citrus and pear. Not too smoky. Some oak. (4256 views) | | Tasted by nigelb on 4/1/2009 & rated 88 points: I enjoy this wine with its extra body and further dimensions. Not very complex but it has interest. (3559 views) | | Tasted by dcoplan on 2/27/2009 & rated 77 points: Smells of nectarine, lemon, and straw. Taste is a bit tingly with an overriding lemon quality that leaves a bitter/tart aftertaste that's light enough to not be offensive. Not complex and not my favorite but decent enough (3612 views) | | Tasted by nigelb on 2/17/2009 & rated 88 points: Very satisfying but perhaps a bit one dimensional. Give it some more time for the oak to be subsumed? (3598 views) | | Tasted by jmoon31 on 2/1/2009 & rated 85 points: Flavor is well balanced with nice acidity. Was very light. (3588 views) | | Tasted by bambam on 1/15/2009 & rated 86 points: Lime, stone, floral, sharp acidity upon entry. Not for me. (3456 views) | | Tasted by mhurford on 1/3/2009 flawed bottle: Corked (3487 views) | | Tasted by MandP on 10/7/2008 & rated 84 points: Pineapple on the nose nose. Flavor is well balanced with nice acidity. Medium body. Great value. (3417 views) | | Tasted by OregonWineGeeks on 9/9/2008 & rated 92 points: A very light white wine with shimmer of silver and gold. There is a very fruity nose, Melon, citrus. The taste is a crisp fruit up front, more melon, plum with tight middle and long acidic finish very delightful, great with a piquant fish and sauce with dill and white sauce. 92 (2207 views) | | Tasted by jbrater on 8/23/2008 & rated 85 points: citrus, green apple, nice finish. Producer websiteSauvignon Blanc Varietal CharacterUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Napa Valley Napa Valley Wineries and Wine (Napa Valley Vintners)Napa ValleySt. Helena |
