Tasted by mwneil on 4/13/2024 & rated 85 points: A bit harsh upon initial taste, good bubbles, others enjoyed, drank easily with cheese, probably wn’t have again. (190 views)
Tasted by Baron Slick on 8/31/2023 & rated 90 points: Haven't had this bottling in over 3 1/2 years. Yeasty, minerally, and citrusy character. Limes, stone fruit, and citrus pith notes are backed by a consistent bead, impeccable freshness, and a refreshing prick that doesn't fade. (795 views)
Tasted by Discobiscuits42 on 5/14/2023 & rated 85 points: Quite yeasty. Acidity is quite sharp and acid reflux inducing but could be worse. Fairly tropical. Bubbles are fairly subdued relatively speaking. Good entry level bubbly. (2300 views)
Tasted by _Al_Gore_Rhythm_ on 1/1/2023 & rated 86 points: A perfectly good sparkler. More fruity than bready/yeasty with a rich mousse. Nothing special or overly complex, but rewarding at my $17 USD price point. (2437 views)
Tasted by SH Wu on 10/6/2022 & rated 80 points: Crisp, fresh, easy drinking. Unoffensive sparkly with not too much happening. (2860 views)
 Tasted by rickycambier on 5/14/2022 & rated 89 points: 89 (3333 views)
Tasted by despore on 8/31/2021 & rated 87 points: A: pale lemon
N: bread, dough, toast, bruised yellow apple, pear, lemon, med int
P: mousse is rich but fine, dry (9+ g/l RS), high acidity, med ABV, med body, med finish more on acid with a touch of overripe lemon
C: good wine, balance is ok but lacking in other aspects (4423 views)
Tasted by Skyhouse on 8/12/2021 flawed bottle: Flat. Had to drain it down the sink (3121 views)
Tasted by Triforwine on 5/13/2021 & rated 81 points: Not too good but drinkable (3627 views)
Tasted by eyouman on 2/14/2021 & rated 90 points: Crisp, fruity apple pear. Nice dry finish. Price point is excellent for a California sparkling and it’s quality. (3567 views)
Tasted by redzins on 11/26/2020: TG 2020. Year of Covid. Always a solid bottle (3343 views)
Tasted by melzar on 11/4/2020 & rated 90 points: From 375: Emphacizes fruit over yeast. Pleasant quaff and a good value. Nice bubbles and adeqate acidity. (2370 views)
Tasted by mkribar on 9/2/2020 & rated 85 points: This was inoffensive. Very strong doughy note on the nose--lots of yeast, brioche. Kind of like a krispy kreme bakeshop. Not as much acidity as I would prefer on the palate, and it has a slightly chemically finish, that I suppose could pass for minerality. (2700 views)
Tasted by Alykhan V on 6/27/2020 & rated 90 points: Compared to champagne, this is made in a ripe, fleshier, fruitier, fuller bodied style

Pronounced aromas of lemon curd, red apple, yellow apple, strawberry, white flowers
Medium toasty aromas — but the dominant impression is of fruit
High acid
Dry
Medium length
Full, rich body (2669 views)
Tasted by chablis28 on 6/26/2020 & rated 89 points: Remains a rock solid reliable CA "champagne". Taut, restrained citrus and mineral notes along with some pie crust. A bargain for under $15. (2234 views)
Tasted by Baron Slick on 1/11/2020 & rated 90 points: Green apples, mixed citrus, clean minerality, and racy acidity. Nice heft and tiny bead. Vibrant finish. (1216 views)

Tasted by Glenn Gilbert on 12/2/2019 & rated 90 points: 12% alcohol; appears to be real cork, light to medium-weight foil, the bottle had built up a lot of pressure and made a sturdy pop upon opening; medium legs, light golden yellow; nose of Granny Smith apples, golden delicious apples & alcohol; very active -- taut, tiny bubbles & lots of them; tasted at approximately 15 degrees C, notes of apples, citrus overlay, minerals with a steely underlay, and earth; medium finish; paired with Thanksgiving turkey dinner (2621 views)
Tasted by Alpton on 9/27/2019 & rated 88 points: Ripe golden delicious apple with grapey notes and hints of lemon. I found it on the off dry side, with a fresh and lemony finish. Good value. (2928 views)

Domaine Chandon

Producer website

N.V. Domaine Chandon Brut Classic

Alcohol 12% by volume.

Per www.chandon.com:

Pinor Noir, Chardonnay, Pinor Meunier, Pinot Blanc. Aging minimum of 12 months on the yeast.

Chardonnay provides front palate creaminess and contributes a firm structure and vibrancy while Pinot Meunier adds mid-palate dimension with hints of cherry cream. Pinot Noir, which forms the majority of the cuvée, gives the wine length, persistence and a lingering flavor. To ensure the continuity of style and quality that has made Chandon one of America’s classic sparkling wines, our Brut is blended with ten to twenty percent Reserve wines from prior harvests.

Look for nutty flavors with hints of brioche that build to a refreshing dry finish. The wine delivers apple and pear characteristics accented by citrus spice over notes of almond and caramel in the bouquet.

Winemaker Tom Tiburzi and Chef Chris Manning suggest serving Chandon Brut Classic to refresh the palate when eating salty, creamy or nutty foods such as Caesar salad, fried calamari, oysters or fresh sashimi and sushi.

Champagne Blend

"Champagne blend" is a classic grape blend that typically includes Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and/or Pinot Meunier in any proportions.

However, this blend can also include Arbane, Fromenteau (Pinot Gris), Petit Meslier and/or Pinot Blanc as well.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
