Tasted by danielbleier on 4/7/2024 & rated 95 points: consistent with notes of 12/26/2023 (431 views)
Tasted by DVill on 3/30/2024 & rated 94 points: Needs at least an hour—ideally 2–of air. Still young. Next bottle probably in 5 years…

Amazing mouthfeel — stood up to bacon-wrapped scallops beautifully. (474 views)
Tasted by jocelyng on 3/3/2024 & rated 94 points: Tasted alongside Chapoutier Chante-Alouette 2019. Interesting comparison of White Rhônes grapes (marsanne vs roussanne). I prefered The Hermitage but the Beaucastel is also a beautiful wine. Richer fruits with mineral notes. The hermitage had more acidity to keep it more balanced. (647 views)
Tasted by danielbleier on 12/26/2023 & rated 95 points: One of the great white wines of the world (and compared to the best burgundy chardonnays this is a steal) - this Roussanne is rich, powerful and thick. Flavors of pineapple, almond and candied citrus linger long after the first sip. (792 views)
Tasted by RichD2 on 10/18/2022 & rated 97 points: I thoroughly enjoyed this wine. It has an intense yellow transparent appearance. Notes of nuts, flowers, peach, mango. Seemingly a touch sweet but with ample acidity and minerality to balance that out. Full bodied and intense. I happen to enjoy this style of wine but not everyone will. (1936 views)
Tasted by cos65 on 7/15/2022 & rated 94 points: Rich gold
Lush ripe floral fruit and honey.
Lovely ripe stuff (1690 views)
Tasted by jviz on 7/15/2022 & rated 94 points: Less reduction in this bottle. My 4th time to try the wine, and it’s entering a truly unctuous phase. Some petrol and banana, with other tropical fruits like papaya and some singed sugar. Acidity is present enough to balance the wine. Improved with aeration in the decanter. Quite a treat. (2019 views)
Tasted by MC2 Wines on 3/9/2022: Return to Napa; 3/6/2022-3/13/2022 (Wineries and various restaurants): One of my initial loves when it comes to white wine. This is and always has been the white wine for red wine drinkers. Full bodied, but nimble. Sweetness and flowers and honey and always just delicious. Worked particularly well with a truffle grilled cheese as a pairing. (3155 views)
Tasted by bubbachumps on 10/21/2021 & rated 95 points: Ken's Head to Head high-low blind shootout (Casa Tomek): Wonderful nose of ripe tropical fruits, pineapple, canteloupe and a touch of coconut. medium to full-bodied on the palate, with amazing richness. A touch of residual sugar coming through but it works within its style very well. Full throttle unique rousanne. Similiare to the SQN white. I enjoyed it very much! More expensive of the 2 wines in this flight and finished 1 of 2. (2530 views)
Tasted by Argrath on 10/16/2021 & rated 95 points: (Blind tasting)
Full and very rich nose. Yellow stone fruit and very complex spiciness. Waxy and flowery. Very gently oaky. Deep and complex.
Fullish and rich palate. Very good structure. Absolutely no flabbiness. Oaky and lovely. Massive fruit pairs with acidic freshness. Very good grip. Waxy and flowery. Very fat and long. Lovely intensity.
Without shadow of a doubt best white Rhône wine I've tasted. And can compete with white Burgundy. A treat!
Cellar potential? No experience so I defer to the authorities on that. (1474 views)
Tasted by mtarrant003 on 12/28/2020 & rated 94 points: Golden in appearance. On the nose it smells like good Roussanne with citrus, lanolin and with time some stone fruit, salinity and a touch of spice. The palate is weighty with noticeable viscosity and great concentration of flavours but also lots of acidity which keeps things in balance. Lovely citrus and stone fruit flavours are complemented by complex saline touches as the wine airs. Drunk with spring rolls and tempura prawns on day one and mango chicken on day two. This is a fantastic wine but so is the Raymond Usseglio Roussanne Pur and the Stolpman L'Avion, both of which I view as comparable wines and both of which are a third of the price. It will be interesting to see if this wine differentiates itself as it ages. (2641 views)
Tasted by jviz on 12/5/2020 & rated 95 points: This was served blind, decanted a couple hours and in zalto bdx steps.

Struck match on the nose, golden in color, I had this pegged as a 10+ year old US chard from Morlet or Kistler. It has big tropical fruit (guava, pineapple) and lots of toasted coconut and hazelnut. Dense weight but substantive supporting acids. Enveloping and long. This is a world class white wine... and a humbling exercise in blind tasting. (2527 views)
Tasted by fontaine on 10/9/2020 & rated 93 points: Très jeune, trop jeune... j’adore le Beaucastel vieilles vignes. (2412 views)
Tasted by Collector1855 on 6/13/2020 & rated 95 points: Zoom blind tasting. Mistaken by many as a richer style Chardonnay, you can see why. Has a lots of lemon and oak. Flowers and stone fruit as well. Rich, yet balanced and complex. Very good. (3873 views)
Tasted by jviz on 12/7/2019 & rated 95 points: Beautiful wine. Waxy lanolin with peach and unripe pear. Clean and classy all the way through, quite a treat (3481 views)
Tasted by Jeff Leve on 9/21/2019 & rated 95 points: Citrus, rocks, stones, peach and floral notes create the perfume. The wine is dense, rich and yet, elegant. There is freshness and a beautiful purity of fruit, with a spicy, fruity, slightly honeyed, long finish. This should age extremely well. (3918 views)
Tasted by Zweder on 6/29/2019 & rated 98 points: Occasional dinner group; Best bottles in white and red. (@ Bottles; Sas van Gent, Netherlands): In the bouquet beautifully fresh fruits and pleasant oak. On the palate very juicy with beautiful ly fresh acidity and some pleasant sweetness. Full bodied, complex and delicious. Still very youthful of course. (3239 views)
Tasted by Zweder on 6/19/2019 & rated 96 points: Monthly Tasting Group HWS #140; C9duP Blanc (By AH): Beautiful bouquet with yellow fruits, smoke and toast. On the palate an enormous concentration, apricots, toast, oak, beautifully fresh acidity, tangerine and well dosed oak. A beautifully balanced and complex wine. Very youthful and already a beauty. (2537 views)
Tasted by Andre Brattland on 6/3/2019 & rated 95 points: Rhone, France. 100% roussanne with grapes from 100 year old vines. Ecological. Delightfully broad and masculine aromas with fiery buttery feeling with really concentrated yellow fruit, caramel and light smoke that truly seduces. Nice, full-bodied wine with a great sense of fruit. Floats masculine and great around. Creamy style with strong concentrated yellow fruits, slightly bitter fruit peel and pretty salinity. Provides real nerve. For heavy fish dishes. Super wine. (2557 views)

"As I have written many times in the past, the sweet spot for drinking Châteauneuf du Papes is usually the first 5-6 years after the vintage. Then they seem to go through an adolescent, awkward, and sometimes dormant stage, only to re-emerge around year 10-12, where the majority of wines are often fully mature. The best of them will continue to hold on to life (but rarely improving) beyond 15-20 years. It is only the exceptional Châteauneuf du Papes that will evolve for 20-25+ years, and those are indeed a rarity. However, things may be improving dramatically in terms of the longevity of Châteauneuf du Pape, although Grenache-dominated wines, the vast majority of wines produced in the appellation, are wines that do not have the polyphenol (extract and tannin) content of top Cabernet Sauvignons, Merlots, or Syrah-based wines. Nevertheless, the younger generation in Châteauneuf du Pape has taken seriously the farming in the vineyards. There are more organic and biodynamically run vineyards here than in any other appellation of France. The yields, which were already low, are even lower today (20-35 hectoliters per hectare), and of course, the proliferation of top luxury and/or old-vine cuvées gives a significant boost to the number of wines that will evolve past 25 or 30 years. The advantage of these wines is their broad window of drinkability." - Robert Parker
