Tasted by drwine2001 on 4/20/2024: An Oldie but a Goodie-Tasting at Maison Trimbach (Ribeauvillé, France): Light golden. Honey, floral, and typical varietal lychee notes. Unctuous, mouth filling, quite sweet, and spicy but superbly balanced with some apricot pit bitterness at the end. Beautiful late harvest Gewurztraminer. Bring on the ripe Munster!! (218 views)
Tasted by pernod on 12/28/2023 & rated 93 points: Golden, slow thick drops, clear. Apricot, yellow pear, peach, candy, herbs, honey nose. Apricot, peach, candy / wine gum, honey, syrup taste. Dense, rich, powerful, sweet, complex, decently balanced with acidity. (117 views)
Tasted by super007 on 5/28/2023 & rated 86 points: Thinner than a Sauternes, still nice texture and weight, although I prefer the fuller richness
Apricot, almost a burnt apricot on the finish
Finish was not as smooth, delicate as I would have liked
Overall a great dessert wine that is a good substitute for Sauternes (176 views)
Tasted by SuperSomm on 1/8/2023: Medium gold colour. Pronounced and developing nose with honey, mango, peach, honeysuckle, yellow plum and orange marmalade. Pronounced taste of honey mango, peach, honeysuckle, yellow plum, orange marmalade and marzipan. Long and semi-sweet finish. Medium acidity. Full body. A very good Alsace Gewürztraminer VT. Drink now or over the next five years. Goes well with cheeses or fruit based desserts. (166 views)
