Tasted by MichielV on 2/24/2024 & rated 90 points: Again- after dinner drink, very good and fun wine. Consistent!
On day 3 this is still singing or lets say - singing better!! (404 views)
Tasted by FoMoCo on 6/1/2023 & rated 89 points: Old world taste - lighter than our usual throw-downs, but probably nice in lieu of a puny Pinot Noir in the heat of a gulf coast summer. (834 views)
Tasted by Brian of Mull on 5/17/2023 & rated 90 points: PnP. Color is deep ruby. On the nose: Dark chocolate, plum , pepper, cinnamon, violets and cassis. On the palate: Plum, dark chocolate, tart cassis. Finish is on short side. Solid wine. Worth trying. (845 views)
Tasted by MichielV on 12/25/2022 & rated 90 points: Just drink wine on 25th. Yummy bottle very fresh with good balance. Very nice mostly syrah. Can use good food (grilled sausage?) (1114 views)
Tasted by drwine2001 on 9/9/2022: Quick Visit to Ridge Lytton Springs (Healdsburg, California): 86% Syrah. Clear ruby core with fading. Attractive but generic nose without a lot of Syrah character. Chocolate, black fruit attack with medium weight, good acidity, and moderate tannins. Tart and simple. Having tasted some Paso Robles Syrahs last month, I am struck by how relatively light and uninteresting this is. (2070 views)
Tasted by crcarlson on 8/24/2022 & rated 90 points: clean
blackberries, raspberries, great fruit
medium minus tanin, good integration
A very nice CA GSM (1380 views)
Tasted by rbfleming on 6/4/2022 & rated 90 points: Dark purple-red. Dark berries. Very nice. (1286 views)
Tasted by Bacchus NYC on 5/10/2022 flawed bottle: Subtle but corked 😔 (1361 views)
Tasted by ethanwade on 5/8/2022: Forest fruit, spice, and prppery florals. (967 views)
Tasted by rbfleming on 4/10/2022 & rated 89 points: Brambles and berries. Very dark purple-red. (825 views)
Tasted by ElJefeTX on 3/12/2022 & rated 90 points: Aromas of bramble fruit and red currants accented by a faint herbal and peppery note. The palate has a pleasant mouthfeel with no hard edges, showing notes of blueberry, blackberry, thyme and baking spice. (1049 views)
Tasted by ChateauShiny on 3/11/2022 & rated 88 points: Decanted 90 minutes. Ruby to black in color. Bright spiced blackberry and blueberry nose. Heavy bodied, moderate acidity, dry, tannic, and fruity. Palate of blueberries, currants, blackberries, and cherries. Heavy round tannins. Moderate fruity blueberry and blackberry finish with black pepper and tarragon.

This is fruity and approachable with a decent decant, but the wine seems to be lacking personality. I rather spend the time and decant a bottle of the Lytton Estate Syrah instead of drinking this. (942 views)

Ridge

Producer website | Wikipedia

Ridge Vineyards is a California winery specializing in premium Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, and Chardonnay wines. Ridge produces wine at two winery locations in northern California. The original winery facilities are located at an elevation of 2,300 feet (700 m) on Monte Bello Ridge in the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA near Cupertino, California. The other Ridge winery facilities are at Lytton Springs in the Dry Creek Valley AVA of Sonoma County.

Red Rhone Blend

Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines
On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.

A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
