| Community Tasting Notes (average 92.7 pts. and median of 93 pts. in 9 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by viniferatu on 12/9/2023: red cherry, tart strawberry, roses, orange candy, a little petrichor and balsam fir, a little mushrooms and airy spice... tart and grippy on the palate, this is too young, but the finish is gorgeous, full of red fruit and myriad classic nebbiolo nuances... just needs time, I think 5 years or so would be good (499 views) | | Tasted by #1 or #2? on 11/8/2023 & rated 93 points: an evening of tastings and pairings at mercato with winemaker pietro oddero... this, wine #3 in the lineup on the evening, was the surprise and standout for me. more subtle than the more powerful and brawny barolos, it stood apart in my mind for its poise, earthy and floral nuances and delicate red berry fruit.
perhaps it was the pairing with the primi platti of classic pomodoro tagliatelle and mushroom risotto (both fantastic btw) but the barbaresco really showed well... young and fresh but delicate and open. superb. 93+ (493 views) | | Tasted by Klugi Wine on 11/1/2023 & rated 93 points: Intense and fresh Barbaresco. Bouquet of raspberries, some violets and a little tobacco. On the palate young but delicate with a lot of tannins ensuring a few decades of life. (525 views) | | Tasted by Collector1855 on 3/14/2023 flawed bottle: During a merchant tasting, no detailed notes. Ripe and hot, drying, hard work. (1398 views) | | Tasted by stet on 9/25/2022 & rated 92 points: Color: medium ruby with just a hint of brick Nose: sour cherry and a little strawberry, perfectly ripe. Violet and rose, and anise. Leather and dust. Fleshy, vibrant and young Palate: stupendous medium-high tannins that are already very well integrated somewhat incredibly. Medium-high acidity, medium body. Confirms the nose with some blood orange zest and raspberry Finish: gloriously long and astringent
My first 2019 Piemonte serious wine, and I'm about to go seek 24 bottles of the produttori standard release, which is what I do if the year is promising. 2016 comparison is fair in my view, grace and substance in barbaresco at least seem to both be there. Right now this demands a couple hours of air in large decanter, otherwise it's too convoluted. (857 views) | | Tasted by TheClemence on 6/26/2022 & rated 94 points: Splendidamente profumato. Al palato leggero, etereo, fresco, tannini davvero molto eleganti e gią amalgamati per un perfetto equilibrio e lunghezza. Finemente corposo ed estremamente piacevole. Barbaresco di grandissima qualitą. (746 views) | | Tasted by diffwine on 4/6/2022 & rated 90 points: Barolo Trip; 4/3/2022-4/7/2022 (Barolo): Fourth wine tasted at Oddero.
Nieve region. 9,000 bottles produced. Spices, rose, rhubarb. Wild cherry on the palate, very round. Sandy soil. Will be ready in 2-3 years. (1218 views) |

| Oddero Producer websiteNebbioloNebbiolo is a red grape indigenous to the Piedmont region of Italy in the Northwest. The grape can also be found in other parts of the world, though they are not as respected.
Nebbiolo is often considered the "king of red wines," as it is the grape of the famed wines of Barolo DOCG, Barbaresco DOCG, and Roero DOCG. It is known for high tannins and acidity, but with a distinct finesse. When grown on clay, Nebbiolo can be very powerful, tannic, and require long aging periods to reach its full potential. When grown on sand, the grape exhibits a more approachable body with more elegant fruit and less tannins, but still has high aging potential.
"Nebbiolo" is named for the Italian word, "nebbia", which means "fog", in Italian and rightfully so since there is generally a lot of fog in the foothills of Piedmont during harvest.
Nebbiolo is a late-ripening variety that does best in a continental climate that boasts moderate summers and long autumns. In Piedmont, Nebbiolo is normally harvested in October.
