 Tasted by HUNKINS5 on 4/20/2024: A-14 (174 views)
Tasted by Tig and Nello on 4/9/2024 & rated 87 points: Deep ruby color. Aromas of raspberry, smoke, and herbs. The flavor profile is simple and underwhelming. IMO, Seghesio Zinfidel at $20 bottle (Costco) is a much better value with a more favorable profile. (224 views)
Tasted by WCW.wine on 3/30/2024 & rated 85 points: Don’t buy again. Like others more for less. (238 views)
Tasted by peeks13 on 3/8/2024 & rated 87 points: At $40++ per bottle no one is buying this on a whim. You're buying it because you, or your spouse, know what you are going to get. I got it as a gift so $0 for me, which is a solid price.

It's exactly what you expect it to be, the style is consistent. The only question is how to choose between this/Clio/Wagner/Caymus/8 Years in the Desert/Veraton to spend your $50. (430 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
