Tasted by andrewstevenson.com on 5/31/2003 & rated 84 points: Quinta do Crasto is owned by a branch of the van Zeller family; the winemaker was David Baverstock. A fairly deep nose with intense black fruit and a hint of oxidation. Fairly light on the attack, and apparently showing a bit of (premature) age. Nice soft tannins. Clean finish. Fairly good. (3554 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 8/11/2002 & rated 86 points: Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barocca and Touriga Nacional, partial macération carbonique, aged on oak. Deep purple, cherry rim; porty aromas on the nose (spices, bay leaf, black fruit); juicy, soft tannins, highish acidity, some oak flavours; good length. (1815 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 2/21/2002 & rated 85 points: Saturated, sombre purple; jammy fruit, spices and oak; fresh and juicy, slightly rough tannins, sweet-and-sour; oaky finish, decent length. Modern, well made but average. (1840 views)

About Quinta do Crasto
Located in the heart of the Douro Valley, on the right bank of the river mid-way between Regua and Pinhao, Quinta do Crasto has been in the family of Leonor and Jorge Roquette for over a century. Nestled on a privileged location in the Douro Demarcated Region, Quinta do Crasto dates back to ancient times. The name Crasto is derived from the Latin word "castrum," or Roman fort. With its commanding unobstructed view of the river, it is not difficult to imagine why the Romans would choose to occupy such a strategic site. Quinta do Crasto produces different styles of port and table wines each year. Together with their winemakers and their entire team, they seek to produce year after year wines that display the unique and beautiful characteristics of the Douro, through a tireless devotion to tradition, integrity and excellence.
