Tasted by chrisk525 on 3/8/2024 & rated 92 points: Creamy, raisiny, sweet, lovely aromatics. I'm no port expert, just starting to explore, but this would be a lovely dessert wine with some creme brulee, soft blue cheese, or even just coffee. (1099 views)
Tasted by Hampsodm on 2/27/2024: Gorgeous. Boss girl dinner (1141 views)
Tasted by Mandamus on 2/17/2024: Same as previous. Current bottle was half-full for over 6 months. Little to no noticeable change having tried it again over the past couple of days. (Rating suppressed—see other reviews; done to prevent my multiple notes on this bottle overly influencing reviews.) (1165 views)
 Tasted by janisfrazer on 2/10/2024 & rated 80 points: I'm a fan. (1114 views)
Tasted by Randyjirwin on 2/10/2024 & rated 85 points: SWEET CAROLINE!!! (1027 views)
Tasted by kevin h on 12/31/2023 & rated 91 points: Drunk over the Christmas period. Not the most complex tawny but with decent fruit and a nice nutty edge. Typical style. (1101 views)
Tasted by xyc on 11/29/2023 & rated 90 points: Tastes sweeter than in 2022, not very Tawny like. Agree with toffee, fig, however exaggerated fig seed, cumin like notes mars the overall impression. Has its appeal prefer true Tawny. (1686 views)
Tasted by sjfunkenhauser on 11/20/2023 & rated 92 points: Elegant and seamlessly integrated.

Light garnet colour.

Pronounced aromas of brown sugar, raisins, butterscotch, stewed plums, dried lavender, Christmas cake, freshly baked sugar cookies, creme brulee, green tea, chocolate, orange peel and roasted hazelnuts.

Pronounced palate.

Full body, medium (+) acidity, high alcohol, sweet, medium(-) tannins, long finish. (1328 views)
Tasted by Vince_chip on 11/20/2023 & rated 93 points: Caramel brûlé, cassonade. Un vin clairement tertiaire comme on s’y attend. Doux en bouche, pas d’amertume, une vraie gourmandise. (1247 views)
Tasted by MAkita on 9/15/2023 & rated 92 points: A really excellent tawny, showing considerable improvement over the 10 yr. Nicely developed and mellow. Tried next to the 30 and the 50yr releases. This one compares very well to the 30 for much less (2057 views)
Tasted by mrkurtz on 9/5/2023 & rated 92 points: Rich and toffee like, chocolatey, mocha, figs. Some nice lift on the palate. Quite sweet still, though. Spicy and quite good freshness despite the alcohol and sugar. (1896 views)
Tasted by Rob D on 7/15/2023 & rated 95 points: This is what I like in a port. Lots of fig and very tasty. (1826 views)
Tasted by Odedis.Wine.reviews on 6/12/2023 & rated 90 points: Light ruby in color with light intensity.

Strong nose of chocolate and coffee notes.

Medium plus in body with high acidity.

Sweet on the palate with mild complexity.

Showing sweet and fresh red fruits with oak, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, alcohol, honey, maple, dark coffee and herbs.

Nice tangy finish with raspberries.

This is a nice sweet wine from Portugal. Easy drinking and a good dessert wine.

A little cloying, but enjoyable nevertheless.

Aged for 20 years in oak barrels.

20% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

$40. (2042 views)
Tasted by Collector1855 on 5/15/2023 & rated 93 points: Walkabout tasting, no detailed tasting notes. Taylor had a great display with plenty of explanation material and tasting opportunity. Nice aromatics with tobacco, nutty aromas, sweet spices. Generally I preferred the Tawny over the bottle aged version. The 20y was good (93) the 40y really a step up (95) and the 50y (95+) only marginally better than the 40y. (2663 views)
Tasted by Grochol on 4/30/2023 & rated 91 points: Nose: dried figs, toffee, tobacco, nuts, almonds, wood

Tasted by Tinram on 12/23/2022 & rated 91 points: Typical Taylor’s tawny with fresh acidity. Nuts and raisins combined with a slight touch of dark caramel. The years in cask has started to make it rounder and nuttier. Good but not excellent. (781 views)

Taylor (Fladgate)

Producer Website

Taylor's vintage ports are renowned for their massive structure, concentration of flavour and distinctively masculine style. Taylor's Port is also renowned for being amongst the longest lived of all ports.

Robert Parker: "This house must certainly be the Latour of Portugal. Their ports are remarkably backward yet still impressive when young. Of all the vintage ports, those of Taylor need the longest time to mature and even when fully mature seem to have an inner strength and firmness that keep them going for decades."

Port Blend

Over a hundred varieties of grapes (castas) are sanctioned for port production, although only five (Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Touriga Francesa, and Touriga Nacional) are widely cultivated and used.
