Tasted by acheng on 12/20/2023 & rated 92 points: This is a sound bottle! Thank goodness. A wonderful Chevalier. The color is warm gold with floral notes. Started to fade in the glass after half hour. Drink now. (358 views)
Tasted by King Julien on 11/27/2022 & rated 96 points: Decanted about 30 min. Compared to several years ago, these do appear to be waking up again. This was the best one yet. Nose was wonderful and palate complexity was outstanding for a couple hours until gone. Happy to have waited it out. (905 views)
Tasted by paulst on 9/20/2022 & rated 84 points: Disappointing and out of balance. (1201 views)
Tasted by King Julien on 7/22/2022 & rated 94 points: Decanted about 1 hour. Quite nice this bottle, perhaps coming out of whatever dumb phase they were in 5 years ago, or maybe just bottle variance. (1058 views)
Tasted by Jameshlee123 on 8/24/2021 flawed bottle: Horrible (1701 views)
Tasted by Charlie Carnes on 6/22/2021 & rated 95 points: Based on this bottle, I don't believe these have a ton of time left... But this bottle is juuuust right. It's in that place where white Burgundy where the change has begun, but all needles are still in the green, If you will! The color is darkening, but still has a keen look to it. There is so much flinty mineral, chalky mineral, soft yellow fruit, and perky acid freshness left, along with some cool green mint and dried spices remaining, that it is in a sweet spot right now. Also it still possesses a freshness, and brightness that makes it easy to drink. Love it and drink up! (1479 views)
Tasted by Tony Ling on 1/17/2021 & rated 94 points: 1.5 hours upon opening serving into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Flower” day): Medium orange golden to the eyes.

More yellow fruits and stone fruits like apricots. Lots of white spices.

Good acidity, saline minerality. Persistent finish.

94 points.

2nd round, 3 hours upon opening: more and more youthful fruits from this point.

3rd round, 4 hours upon opening: finally opening up and broader spectrum of fruits now.

4th round, 5 hours upon opening: yellow fruits and much more sweet spices like cinnamon and anise here. (1590 views)
Tasted by chbent1 on 10/4/2020 flawed bottle: Corked. Crying shame. (1397 views)
Tasted by Milliontown on 11/30/2019 & rated 95 points: Blind, unmistakably white burgundy but I was in Meursault. The weight of fruit and nutty oak character was what led me there I think. The fruit really swallows up the oak though, everything is in harmony here. Has a nice touch of smoky reduction at the start, leading to more stonefruit and then slightly into the tropical fruit spectrum. The power on the palate is pitch perfect; the structure is totally grand cru, balancing texture and acidity with great finesse.

If I had to fault it, it feels a bit “worked”; the leesy texture feels maybe just a bit over the top, and the oak component so precisely dialed in. That’s getting quite analytical though. This was a pleasure to drink. (1849 views)
Tasted by MartyL on 6/17/2019 & rated 92 points: Rich and honeyed aromatics. With air it reveals some spice too. Plush texture. Opulent and very grand cru. Mature. (1579 views)
Tasted by Nanda on 1/26/2018 & rated 93 points: 2nd Annual Jadot with Frederic Barnier (RPM Steak): A real step up here as I think we've caught this in a peak window. Riper fruit but plenty of fresh, energetic acids throughout. Good mineral, floral and spice accents. Very good. (2104 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 1/26/2018 & rated 92 points: Jadot Dinner with Frédéric Barnier (RPM Steak - Chicago IL): Open 45 minutes before serving. Ripe and rich with good concentration. Nicely fresh fruit, very tasty indeed, I'd just like a little more nuance. (3032 views)
Tasted by convex on 10/7/2017 & rated 94 points: Had two examples a month apart. There seem to be some variation between the bottles. The first one was rather tame and unspectacular. Today the wine is firing on all cylinders. Intense minerality and cutting freshness leads to a high wire act of balancing. Thoroughly enjoyable. Serve this one a bit warmer (55-60F) to enjoy its full portfolio of flavors. ++ (2070 views)
Tasted by King Julien on 8/29/2017: Popped and poured. Dark gold in color, not much nose, perhaps a bit oxidized or in some strange stage. (1700 views)
Tasted by King Julien on 7/1/2017 & rated 92 points: Popped and poured. Not much on the nose, weak palate, but nice finish. Seems to be past its prime. Probably scored higher in the past. Drink up. (1743 views)
Tasted by King Julien on 5/9/2017: Popped and poured. Not sure what to make of it, seemed a bit tired. No premox, just weak nose and bland palate. Didn't really change over 2 hours. Will wait to rate until next time in case this was an odd bottle. (1314 views)
Tasted by dsiii on 3/1/2017 & rated 92 points: Excellent body, quite long, but fully mature, exhibiting a somewhat oxidized nose. Drink up, not much left here. (1646 views)
Tasted by dsiii on 3/29/2016 & rated 95 points: A spectacular burgundy. Likely at its peak, but absolutely lovely. (2059 views)
Tasted by JWdeSommelier on 10/19/2015 & rated 92 points: Powerful wine from very ripe vintage. Quite developed in contrary with the other wines from 05 from this flight. Apricot, peaches (1929 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 10/19/2015 & rated 90 points: A private tasting (Jan-Dirk Taams' residence, Groot-Ammers, Netherlands): Very evolved nose, good depth, closed, hint of nuttiness, baked apple, fennel, clears up with some air; nice weight and concentration but really too developed, separating acidity; good length with some bitters. Directly from the Dutch importer's cellars, so no storage issues. Disappointing. (3290 views)
Tasted by Uglypinga on 10/1/2015: Flint an lime on the nose. Some hiding yellow fruit. The palate has some interesing yellow fruit all coated by matchstick. Maybe a bit too flinty for me. (1404 views)
Tasted by dcwino on 10/1/2015 & rated 96 points: Annual Chicago winos visit - Dugat Py Chambertins, DRC RSVs, SQN and etc. (The Grill Room at Capella Hotel Georgetown): Ripe yellow fruit driven nose, lemon curd, lemon oil, honey, flint and steely mineral. Excellent concentration, chewy rich ripe yellow fruit driven palate impression, strong presence of mineral and good clean medium finish. It has definitely entered the peak drinking window. I don’t think you have to worry about premox on this Jadot. (3061 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 10/1/2015 & rated 93 points: Wine Dinner Extravaganza (Capella Hotel Dining Room - Washington DC): Ripe and dense orchard fruit that is highlighted by very good spice and floral notes. I definitely like the concentration here but didn't find the finish particularly long or nuanced. I am averse to thinking it needs more time in cellar, given overall problematic experience with 2005s, including a Jadot Montrachet later this same evening. (2995 views)
Tasted by The Guzz on 6/21/2015: Some oxidation. Big structure and substantial fruit. White flower and high tone fruit battling nutty premox. Brown sugar struggles to come out. Less affected on the backend with pretty floral, peach, pear, and spice. (1527 views)
Tasted by dcwino on 1/30/2015 & rated 95 points: Dinner with Charles M - 96 DP Oeno, 96 Dom Rose, 90 Margaux, 90 Mouline, 93 Ponsot Chambertin & etc. (The Grill Room at Capella Hotel Georgetown): Medium yellow color, rich ripe yellow fruits, peach, lemon oil, honey, ginger and mineral. Excellent concentration, rich ripe yellow fruit driven palate impression, bright acidity and medium finish with lingering sweet yellow fruits. With air, it became fresher and more precise. Really enjoyable. Ready to go. (2954 views)

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
