Tasted by cfulbright on 3/19/2022 & rated 90 points: Decanted for 30 minutes. Color is dark red to the edge. Nose is rich but a little "hot" and a little plummy, probably due to 14.5% alcohol. Noticeable tannins. A little sour on the finish. Drink now and over the next few years, but I'm worried the fruit will fade and just leave the alcohol. (836 views)
Tasted by Peterkraus60 on 3/30/2021 & rated 92 points: Ready to drink now. Agree on the vanilla notes. (1238 views)
Tasted by Myman24 on 1/6/2021 & rated 96 points: So good and on point...!!! Dark, rich, a bit of vanilla and cassis sweetness to it but wonderfully all intertwined! Glad I have a couple more. (1709 views)
Tasted by Elkcims on 11/7/2020 & rated 95 points: Caramel, dark fruits medium to full bodied, still very enjoyable. Fruit is fading but has a few years left. (1425 views)
Tasted by George Lopez on 3/27/2020 & rated 95 points: First of all, I believe that 2007 is the best vintage for Napa Cabernet in the last 15-17 years. After quaffing this Crossroads nugget, which was the entry level red wine for Rudd at the time, I'm still firmly convinced of that. This wine drank beautifully after about 30 minutes in the glass. And for those who are still sitting on some of this, there are still some tannins evident on the finish, suggesting perhaps 3-5 more years of life might be left. Drink up! (1614 views)
Tasted by slywka7 on 12/20/2019 & rated 94 points: My last bottle. Decanted for 30 minutes. Aromas of blackberry, currant, lead pencil, dusty berry and dried cherry. Flavors of blackberry, currant, dried cherry, plum and just a touch of iron. Ends with a great finish of 35-40 seconds with blackberry notes. Finish cuts out for a second in the mid palate but quickly recovers. A bit tight and needs some air to come around. Still a great bottle and showing no signs of fading. Sadly my last one.  Tasted by joshabramson on 8/22/2019 & rated 93 points: Took a few minutes to open up. Initially I found the structure to overpower the fruit, but then it mellowed out and was quite nice. (1166 views)
Tasted by Elkcims on 2/25/2019 & rated 95 points: Same thoughts as in Jan. Caramel toasty oak in the background. Most enjoyable! (1390 views)
Tasted by Elkcims on 1/19/2019 & rated 94 points: 60 min decant. Lots of sediment. Still has quite a bit of fruit, little to no tannins. Very rich nose, mid palate B+ but short lived finish...doesn't linger like I expected. I enjoyed it for the price point back at release, plan to drink my last couple bottles this year. (1300 views)
Tasted by slywka7 on 12/25/2018 & rated 94 points: Decanted and drank. Dusty berry, cherry, blackberry and currant. Flavors of dusty berry, blackberry, wild cherry and and touch of earth. Ends with 35 second finish with dusty berry and blackberry. Drinking very well right now. (1236 views)
Tasted by slywka7 on 3/4/2017 & rated 94 points: Decanted for 1.5 hours. This had a bit of sediment and cloudy in color. Aromas of blackberry, kirsch liquor, dried cherry, crushed rock and lead pencil. Flavors of blackberry, cherry, iron, boysenberry and touch of herb. Finish goes on for about 35+ seconds with a blackberry and iron note. This took a while to really come around but once it did, it did in a big way. (2144 views)
Tasted by Meneley on 7/12/2015: Red and black fruits, still fresh. Needs time, quite young. LO (3075 views)
Tasted by slywka7 on 10/19/2014 & rated 94 points: Aromas of cherry, blackberry, kirsch liquor, iron and herb. Flavors of dusty berry, blackberry, iron and olive. Classic oakville Cabernet. Tannins still present so this has a while to go. (3123 views)
Tasted by Delli on 10/4/2014 & rated 91 points: I get Rudd and Tor confused a lot. This is Rudd. It is purple and opaque with almost no edge. Ripe cherries, vanilla, and sandel wood. The pallate is consistent with chewy tannins and generous mouthfeel and balance. Cherrie pie finish. 5+12+16+8=91 (3044 views)
Tasted by mikejschroe on 7/21/2014: Do not pull until 2019. (3207 views)
Tasted by napasoutherner on 12/12/2013 & rated 95 points: This was a wonderful bottle of wine. Consumed at a dinner party. Notes of red berry, vanilla, and cocoa. Long and silky finish and overall and truly great Rudd wine and Napa Cab. (2829 views)
Tasted by El Tej on 3/30/2012 & rated 93 points: 3 hour decant (3377 views)
Tasted by MGrange on 1/8/2012 & rated 91 points: Young, tannic. After initial truffle smell and two hours in decanter the fruit (blueberry) and licorice came through. Very nice wine but I will wait another 2-3 years before I open the next one. (2894 views)
 Tasted by Wildfan104 on 12/29/2010 & rated 90 points: average (3805 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
