  Bourdeaux-like driven, vibrant red colour, earthy, meaty and peppery.
  My Italian friends love it cause it seems everything but Sicilian, I mean softie, can't feel that Nero d'Avola heat, it's not black, ...
  A perfect mate for a cured Mahon cheese.
  
  El estilo te lleva a Burdeos, de un vibrante color carmesí, terroso, cárnicos y apimientada.
  A mis amigos italianos les encantó porque no parece siciliano, quiero decir suavecito, no se siente el calor de la Nero d'Avola, no es de color negro, ...
  Un compañero perfecto para un queso de Mahón curado.

  What I mean is you can't start an aperitif with the best bottle cause after that every bottle seems to be worse that it really is.

  Demasiado roble en nariz. Astringente en boca. A pesar de los cinco años transcurridos se mostró tánico y un poco desagradable. Para evitar.

• 1999 Gaja Langhe Alteni di Brassica

  Bright gold colour. Nose was fantastic, full of intoxicating aromas of white fruits, flowers or minerals. Complex to the bone.
  Little lean on the palate yet savoury with a good back acidity and length. Loved it.
  Surprisingly a good pair for a fish ceviche.
  
  De un brillante color oro. Fantástica en nariz, llena de embriagadores aromas a frutas blancas, flores o minerales. Compleja hasta la médula.
  Un poco plana en la boca aunque sabrosa con una buena acidez y longitud.
  Sorprendentemente acompaño muy bien un ceviche de pescado.

• 2003 Quinta do Feital Alvarinho Dorado Superior

  This is the answer for all of those thinking that if Alvariño, the younger the better. Gerardo Méndez -Do Ferreiro- is right.
  Complexity to the maximum. Mature lemony aromas following a good intensity on the palate. Still a brave yet tamed backbone. Nice effort. To be repeated.
  
  Está es la respuesta para aquellos que piensan que el alvariño mejor cuanto más joven. Gerardo Méndez de Do Ferreiro tiene razón.
  Complejidad a tope. Aromas a limón maduro siguiendo a una buena intensidad en boca. Todavía conserva un espinazo potente aunque domado. Para repetir sin duda.

  Definitively this isn't my style. It's not a question about that rough sweet touch of pear in syrup but that inconsistent permanence on the palate.
  No really a defective wine but far away of my mind. Sorry.
  
  Definitivamente esto no es para mi. No es por esa tosca nota dulce a peras en almíbar si no por esa permanencia inconsistente en boca.
  No es realmente un vino defectuoso pero no me va nada. Lo siento.

  Better Niepoort ever? Its time has come!
  Softie, delicate even on the palate. Really appetising.
  Still an 'international style' coming from nowhere on the nose.
  In spite of that I like it.
  
  ¿El mejor Niepoort que nunca haya tomado? ¡Por fin ha llegado su momento!
  Suavecita, incluso delicada en boca. Muy apetecible.
  En nariz todavía se comporta con ese estilo internacional que no viene de ninguna parte. A pesar de eso, me gusto.

• 2005 Altaïr Vineyards & Winery Altaïr

  What were we expecting? An untamed bronco? A fruit bomb? An undrinkable oaky wine? A tamed bestie even?
  Then it showed well-balanced between red fruit and wood, perhaps excessively soft but still kicking and giving long seconds of pleasure on the palate.
  Quite good matching wild boar parpadelle.
  
  ¿Qué estábamos esperando? ¿Un potro desbocado? ¿Una bomba frutal? Un imbebible vino amaderado? ¿Incluso una bestia domada?
  Por eso se mostró equilibrado entre la fruta roja y la madera, quizá excesivamente suave pero todavía voleando y dando latgos segundos de placer en boca.
  Bien buena acompañando unos parpadelle con jabalí.

  Too much oxidised at first -rusty nail from the fifties- but blooming up with time.
  That's right, fruit has gone but who cares when you've a gem like this in your glass. Deliciously decadent, harmoniously balanced and presenting a good length.
  Well-known, easily recognisable Rioja and possibly the red WOTN.
  
  Al principio demasiado oxidada (un clavo roído desde los años cincuenta- pero floreciendo con un poco de tiempo.
  De acuerdo, la fruta se ha ido pero a quién le importa cuando tienes a una maravilla como está en la copa. Deliciosamente decadente, armoniosamente equilibrada y presentando una buena longitud.
  Un fácilmente reconocible Rioja, bien conocido y posiblemente el tinto de la noche.

• 2001 Alvaro Palacios Priorat Finca Dofí Flawed

  Decanted without any effective tone.
  A few notes of carobs and anything else. Can't recognise a truly Priorat here. A defective storage indeed.
  
  Decantada sin ningún efecto positivo.
  Unas pocas notas a algarroba y poco más. No se podía reconocer a un verdadero Priorato.
  Sin duda un almacenaje deficiente.

• 1986 Marqués de Murrieta Rioja Ygay Crianza Blanco

  What a white wine! In a blind taste you'd think this is an old Burundian Chardonnay: buttery, honeyed, suave, silky, mineral, floral on the nose but at the same time multilayered on the palate. Quite delicious. Still firm enough to face another decade or two.
  In my view a well-aged Rioja, whites included, provides one of the greatest pleasures that life has to offer.
  I'm really proud of Murrieta. Believe me if you don't know this probably you're missing something good. My WOTN among whites.
  
  ¡Menudo vino blanco! En una cata a ciegas pensarías que es un viejo borgoñón: amantequillado, melosa, suave, asedado, mineral, floral en nariz pero a su vez multifacética en boca. Bien deliciosa. Todavía lo suficientemente lozana como para encarar otra década o incluso dos.
  En mi opinión un blanco de Rioja bien envejecido proporciona uno de los mayores placeres que la vida te puede ofrecer.
  Realmente orgulloso de Murrieta. Créeme que si no conoces esto te estás perdiendo algo muy bueno. Mi blanco de la noche.

• NV Gonet-Médeville Champagne Premier Cru Brut Blanc de Noirs

  Typically PN nose without any depth.
  Its time was as appetitive, in any case as a champagne of reflexion and thinking. Flamenquito was right this time.
  
  Nariz típica a PN sin ninguna profundidad.
  Su hora estaba en el aperitivo. En ningún caso como un champán reflexivo, para pensar. El del flamenquito tenía razón está vez.
