Decanted 2.5 hours, drank a glass over about 2 hours. This wine is perfumed, complex and slightly understated. Very elegant. I would probably not guess Australia.
A 2 hour decant. There was an odd butter/cookie dough/vanilla/baking spice going on with this wine on the nose and palate. Beyond that, a relatively straight-forward Aussie shiraz.

1 hour decant and drank a glass over about 1.5 hours. Served blind, the consensus was Australian shiraz, but a balanced one! Chocolate, earth, tar, roasted meats, really nice. There was a lot going on here and it was fun to drink. It is definitely on the big-side.
Consumed mostly at a tasting, but brought the leftover home and finished over the next few days. On the whole, old and faded. Nothing terribly wrong with it, but definitely over the hill and a dissapointment. Not that sweet, complex, fragile and grainy. We were debating whether it was slightly corked. In fact I do not believe it was, but there was a slight mushroom component to it. It may have been slightly corked, but I don't believe so.
Tried at a tasting, took about 1/3rd the bottle home and finished it over the course of the week. There is a ying-yang thing going on with this wine. Ying - Syrupy caramel, maple syrup, thick. Yang - oxidation. There is signficant oxidation on this wine. Instead of a Sauternes or tokaji where the sweetness is balanced by acidity, this wine's sweetness is balanced by oxidation. The flavor did not change a bit over 1 week.

Supposedly slow o'd for 8 hours. This wine was chewy, tannic, and a great wine to end an Aussie tasting. Quite bold.
