Big, aromatic nose of tropical fruit with a hint of grassy notes. Wow, the palate is electric and super energetic with white fruit and citrus accents. There is density here but so much taut citrus acid and brightness. Chiseled, mineral finish.
A much richer and fatter vintage. The nose is a bit dumb with non-delineated white fruit and showing some heat. The palate is ripe and heady with lush, big fruit. This is stuffed. Not as sharp and bright as the '04 tasted before this. Good but suffered in comparison.
Forward and bright nose with orchard fruit and lemon-lime accents. Similar to the '05, this is heavier and richer in the mouth, though there is more acid here compared to the '05 but not as much as the '04. Good mineral and freshness in the finish.
Gorgeous nose is big and rich with orchard fruit and grass/hay notes. The palate follows suit with bigger, rounder fruit that is matched by racy, powerful acids. Great medley of mineral, white fruit and hay. Terrific.
Oh my. The nose is straight up fireworks with endless amounts of rich white fruit, loads of mineral and citrus oil. At one big, rich and round yet racy and electric. Delicious, and long, long, long across the palate. Second favorite in our 9-vintage vertical.
A rich and ripe nose with delicious white fruits and steaks of mineral and hay - but this is mostly about that flamboyant fruit. Ripe and round, more so than any of the other wines. Still in balance but not quite as electric as the best bottles tonight.
Similar to the '08, this has fireworks in the nose with young, pure and vibrant green apple that goes on and on. This has richness and concentration with so much depth and length. A parade of fruit and minerals riding electric acidity. Great mineral crescendo in the finish. Wow. WOTN.
The runt of the 9-vintage litter tonight. I actually quite liked the nose as it had the orchard fruit and mineral, but also added a unique musk/smoke component that was interesting. The palate was a bit closed in and felt under-ripe. Just a bit awkward, and likely closed down in some way.
The youngest of the 9-vintage vertical, and it showed. This was all youthful exuberance and no poise. Big nose of ripe fresh-cut apple and mineral. The palate is tasty, rich and almost bordering on sweet given it's primary ripeness. Stuffed with acidity too, it's just not in harmony with the dense, youthful fruit. Lots of upside, I suspect.
Interesting and reasonably good, especially on the nose. Aromatic that is Pinot meets Loire Cab Franc, with light red cherry fruit and distinct herbal/bell pepper note (or it's just my mind playing tricks on me given the label). The palate is super light and elegant. Good pure, fresh red cherry but not much else. A treat to try, but not worth over-spending on this stuff.
