I would drink a lot more Sauvignon Blanc if they were all like this. This is an absolutely terrific effort from Luc Morlet. Honey, pear, citrus, and apricot. Drinking well now, but this has great structure to go the distance. Tasted at the Morlet winery.

This is still a baby and will need many more years to come together. Great potential with it's imposing structure. Tasted at the Morlet winery.

An intense nose of apricots, honey, apple, and almonds. Full bodied with impressive structure, but not overly syrupy. This is drinking well now and should continue to do so over the next couple decades. Tasted at the Morlet winery.

This is a very special wine from Detert with 100% ToKalon Cabernet Franc. Dark and brooding with a wild nose of cassis, lead pencil, tobacco, sage, and pepper. This has an impressive structure and a 45+ second finish. Bravo. One of my favorite Cab Francs ever. This will be ready to drink in 5 years and for another 30 years after that. Tasted at the Dakota Shy Winery.

The 2015 Forman Cabernet Sauvignon is an absolutely gorgeous wine and one of the best wines of the vintage. The 2015 is much more fruit forward than more classically styled Forman wines. Plush red perfumed fruits envelop the senses, while a silky smooth texture that makes this a joy to drink. Drink anytime over the next 30 years. Tasted at the Forman Winery.

The 2016 Forman Cabernet Sauvignon is a difficult wine to judge at this moment as the nose is closed. Lots of potential though with great structure and powerful fruit characteristic of the vintage. Tasted at the Forman Winery.

This chardonnay from Forman is quite a bit different from most Napa Chardonnays without malo. The nose is a little closed right now. Medium bodied with a silky smooth texture. Very little oak. Good value for the money, but not quite sure if it is my style. Tasted at the Forman Winery.

2016 Kinsman Eades Cabernet Sauvignon Anjea Sleeping Lady Vineyard 97 Points
USA, California, Napa Valley, Yountville

The 2016 Anjea Sleeping Lady Vineyard is an absolutely stunning debut for Kinsman Eades. Gorgeous and layered with red and black currants, perfumed flowers, red cherries, and cocoa. Deeply structured with coarse tannins. You are going to need to be patient, perhaps 5-7 years, before this is ready to drink. Tasted with Shae and Nigel at Long Meadow Ranch.
