A strong and classic vintage with rich, toasty fruit plenty of energetic bead and lots of fresh acidity. All the makings to be a top vintage that ages well though its a lot of fun already.
First go around with the 2012 and this seems like an over-performer with abundant, rich, toasty, powerful fruit with classic Dom richness. Should age nicely, but Dom is so damn tasty young.
A gorgeous and stunning wine. Killer intense nose of mature plum, dark chocolate, cedar and spice. Rich, fresh and powerful fruit that is suave and harmonious. At apogee.
A classic, mature Nebbiolo with lots of dried cherry, florals and old leather notes. Reasonably round and fresh on the palate, with classic balsam-leaning flavors and rusticity.
A beauty and drinking perfectly. Massive, intense, enchanting nose of smoky black fruit, game, pepper, smoked herbs and spice. Rich and dense on the palate yet seamless and precise. A couple decades of peak drinking remain.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
While primary, this is flat out delicious. So much stem and Vosne spice intermixed with silky, concentrated black cherry. Should improve but so fun now.
Text book, mature and singing wine. So much mint and eucalyptus in the aromas and on the palate. Fresh plum fruit for days with well integrated balancing structure. No hurry, but I’d drink in 5-10 years.
In a perfect spot and a case study in mature, complex left bank Bordeaux. Full throttle aromatics and flavors that lead with earthen, herby fruit made nuanced with cedar, graphite and attractive funk. Plenty of richness and structure. Will hold at this level for 10+ years.
Just a puppy. Rich, chewy and precocious cherry and plum fruit packed with a medley of herbs and spices. Not quite delineated and nuanced. Hold for 5-10 years.
Drinking nicely for a 40 year-old. Mountain fruit cedar and mulch with nice bell pepper notes. Mid weight at this age in this vintage but still fresh with some plumpness.

Still has plenty of sweet round fruit with smoke and hardened mineral complexity. Modest but sufficient acidity.
