Tasted blind. Wine was decanted 2+ hours before consuming. Still very, very young. With some time in the glass showed hints of greatness, but was somewhat confusing in the mid palate. Greenness, mineral and alcohol overrode the fruit. Seemed to change ever few minutes over the evening. I think it has potential. I brought this to the tasting and was surprised that it did not show better. I will hold my other bottles at least 2 years.
Tasted blind. Dark purple in color, thick and rich. Dark fruit and licorice on the palate with some mild spice. Finish does not disappoint but is a tad bit short. I brought this wine to the tasting and identified it during the blind tasting.
Tasted blind. Nose of forest floor and flowers. Drinkable, but lacking complexity. Some dark fruit in the mouth. Nothing special about the finish - medium in length.
Tasted blind. A little non descript on the nose - a bit of dark fruit and mustiness. More of the same on the palate. Seemed a bit thin, but more than drinkable.
Tasted blind. Very dark inky purple. Nose is decadent with rich black fruit, oak, licorice and a smidgen of mint. Massive amounts of deep dark fruit and anise in the mouth So thick you can chew it with a finish that lasts a country mile. My WOTN.
Tasted blind. Medium dark ruby in color. Nose of red and black fruit (bing cherries) and creamy vanilla. Mild in the mouth with more red and black fruit combined with some earthiness. Satisfying finish. Surprised to find it was a Merlot in a bland Napa Cab tasting.
Tasted blind. Nose of dark fruit and forest floor. In the mouth dark chocolate covered cherries with hint of creamy vanilla and oak. Excellent feel in the mouth with balanced tannins. Long finish.
Hawk's brother-in-law brought this to the PAWineTalk.com tasting number 8 of Napa Cabs. Was not tasted blind as the cabs were. He thought it was a bit past its prime, but I found it to be lovely. Nose of citrus and peach with more of the same on the palate. Nice way to finish the evening.
