All reds tasted blind in flights of three (plus final two).
First red of the night. Lots of oak on the nose. Not sure if it was decanted. More oak and sweet black fruit on the palate. Nice way to start, but I am hoping for more as the evening evolves.

Big nose of black fruit and oak. Blackberries, black cherries and dust on the palate. Lacked the finish I would have expected.

Ringer of the night. This $20 bottle held its own among the 12 tasters with the likes of Maybach, Scarecrow, Peter Michaels, Bryant Family and many others. Sweet cherry oak on the nose. On the palate chocolate, vanilla, blackberry, sweet oak. A lot going on here for $20. Great mouth feel and solid finish.

Again, easy to tell this one had some age. Not as much fruit, lots of earth, tobacco and leather. Strong tannins with life left. Solid, but much different than other bottles served tonight.

Cherry and vanilla oak on the nose. Smooth dose of ripe black fruit on the palate. Perhaps out of its league tonight?

Impressive but young. Tons of fruit - blackberries, blueberries, plums and cassis, with smoky meat tossed in just for fun. Smooth and long lasting. Should continue to evolve.

Cork disintegrated while attempting to open. Hard to get a taste with all of that cork in your mouth. Seemed pleasant enough, but no attempt made to score.
