  • 1996 Emmanuel Rouget Echezeaux 92 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru

Hoison, dark cherry and warm earth on the nose. Semi mature but vibrant fruit and minerals on the palate. Sweetness buffered the acidity nicely.

  • 1998 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Grands-Echezeaux 93 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru

Herbaceous, mushroom, forest floor nose. Moderate bricking. Spiced, slightly tart red fruits on the palate. The balance between tannins and acidity were a little off kilter giving it a sightly dry finish. Very good none the less.

Flight 4 (2 Notes)

  • 1999 Domaine Anne Gros Richebourg 95 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Richebourg Grand Cru

Super rich black fruit, floral, spices, smoke and dark cocoa on the nose. The palate was huge, sappy and simply delicious. A mix of sweet black cherries and dark plums. Fresh acidity with solid tannins that should integrate nicely in years to come. Hits on all cylinders.

  • 1990 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée St. Vivant 92 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Romanée St. Vivant Grand Cru

Spicy, sweet red fruits, stems, mushrooms and saddle leather on the nose. Ripe fruit flavors and soft tannins. The acidity seemed just a tad flat.
