Complete vertical tasting of both Sabon Prestige and Secret.
A very youthful nose with plenty of black currant, buttermilk and lemon with a little touch of vanilla. Also has a little dirt..
The palate is powerful black currant and a little disturbing bitterness in the middle->end. A very young wine with a wall of acidity which is just great to drink.

Plump blackberry nose with a little bark and sewer.. Very intense and impressive nose.
The fruit on the palate seems much older than on the nose and the acidity seems a bit unstructured. Medium length aftertaste, mostly with blackberries and black currants. Pretty dry on the end and does lack acidity.
Perhaps in a strange phase but not very impressive.

A lot of sewer-like on the nose with a lot of freshly ground black pepper. Some black currant.
The palate has black pepper, black berries. Has a good balance but does seem to shut down a little bit.

Great black currant intensity on the nose but also with some sweet vanilla-cherries (amaretto). Just a hint of meat..
Heavy dark plums on the palate.. Extremely young and powerful with a long aftertaste. Huge backbone and has the making of a great wine!
Loved it!

Very intense nose with sweet cherry sauce, a lot of christmas spices, orange peel, vanilla. Just a hint of curdled milk.
The palate has a lot of spicyness to it followed by alot of vanilla and fresh cherries. Has a certain sweetness to it but not in an overdone way. Very impressive balance and even though it is a dense and powerful wine it still remains fresh and vibrant. Impressive length with a solid backbone of acidity.
Beautiful wine!

Nose: A little hints of sewer and dark cherry. Overripe dark plums and vanilla
Palate: Seems a little closed. Blackberry fruit. Seems somewhat off balance and mostly displays a harsh tannin profile. Only medium aftertaste with mostly tannins. Okay wine but nothing really exciting.

Nose: a bit strange. Mostly black pepper and only a little dark plum. Cola?
Palate: Almost no fruit, short flavor profile, dry and very unstructured. Could be a bad bottle?

Very concentrated nose packed with black truffles, wet dirt with tones of bonfire. Black fruits and very explosive.
The palate shows very dark and extracted fruit and also some burned meat. There is also a HUGE structure that really balances out the very intense fruit flavors.
The fruit is however not boiled in any way! The is a great balance and complexity in the wine that also shows a lot of freshly ground black pepper with additional hints of smoke and bonfire.
It is actually a little sweet (fruit) but it is a wine that is not overdone due to the great balance complexity and structure..
An amazing and crazy wine that was a great pleasure to try!

Nose: Mature fruit, black currant/dark plum, coffee and a little manure.
Palate: Light plum flavors and a little to hard acidity. Seems unbalanced and irrelevant.

Nose: Milk chocolate, plum, leather, white pepper.
Palate: Plump dark plums, fresh acidity but still a solid tannin bite. Good balance.

Nose: Acidic red currants, manure. Intense.
Palate: Watery fruit and very light. Overly dry on the palate and just seems very old. Could be an off bottle but perhaps it is just not very good?

Nose: Barnyard, sewer, black pepper, dark plum fruit. Everything is very intense.
Palate: Plump dark plums with some leather mixed with coffee. A very nice finish that really lifts this wine!

A beautiful nose with pine and toasted coffee but also a lot of manure with just a hint of leather. Packed with meat notes and even some wet fur.
The palate has a good intensity with un-evolved dark plum fruit. Loads of tannins and acidity. Very animalistic.
A great structure and still very young.

An enticing hint of sewer on the nose but still plenty of cherry/kirsch fruit. Clear hints of age with a little leather but the intensity is really good!
Concentrated young and sweet cherry fruit with great intensity. Very structured and balanced. Very long acidic aftertaste that really compliments the wine.
Intense and still very young. Impressive.

A bit of a funky nose with nail polish, raisins and aged meat. There is also a little VA sticking out but nothing seems to be wrong with the wine.
The palate is simply amazing. Sweet dark plums, varnish, acetone and an extremely long aftertaste.
Very powerful palate that just have a great complexity and is continuing to grow as time goes by.
A simply superior balance and overall just a hugely impressive wine.

Animalistic nose.
The palate has a solid depth with red currants coming through and a fair amount of acidity. A rustic wine.

An excellent nose with malt bread, red apples, yeast and brioche. Appears to have some age on it based on the nose with just a hint of caramel.
The palate is quite "heavy" showing overripe red apples. The fruit is fairly sweet. Red and yellow apples and even some plums.
The nose is somewhat oxidative but not on the palate.
A great wine that I really like but I wasn't overly impressed.

White flowers on the nose with a hint of green apple.
The palate shows sweet green apples and a lot of grapefruit. Unfortunately a short acidic aftertaste with a slight bitterness. Not a favorite but I would like to try this again under other circumstances.
