  From Magnum. For the first 2 hours after opening, I was concerned that this was just too old and fading. After 2 hours, this wine became so youthful and alive. Brilliant bottle from a great producer. This wine still has years ahead of it if properly stored.

  The Pope's Chateau (Casa Covolo): Cloudy red ruby in color. Dark cherry nose with faint animal fur (in a good way). On the palate, some grittier tannins that don't detract from the finish, flavors of black raspberry on a medium + finish. This continued to get better as the night went on. Finished tied for 4th out of 5.
