  • 2009 Mongeard-Mugneret Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits 88 Points

France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits

Tart red fruit and baking spice on the nose. Light bodied with medium acidity. Cranberry and tart cherry, bit of earth. Lean but nice.

  • 2009 Mongeard-Mugneret Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Orveaux 90 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru

Pretty nose of ripe cherry fruit and warm baking spices. Light to medium bodied with medium acidity. Cherry fruit, baking spice and light tannins. A bit tight, with noticeable oak influence, especially through the finish, but enough material to absorb it.

  • 2009 Mongeard-Mugneret Vougeot 1er Cru Les Cras 92 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vougeot 1er Cru

Pretty nose of pure red cherries with a dash of baking spices. Medium bodied with medium acidity. Nice depth of red cherry fruit, some baking spice accents and some light tannins. Oak is noticeable but better integrated than the two VR 1ers probably because there's just a bit more material here. Lovely.

  • 2009 Mongeard-Mugneret Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Petits Monts 91 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru

Nose is reticent at first but opens a bit to reveal ripe cherry fruit and baking spices. Light to medium bodied with medium acidity. Raspberry and ripe cranberry fruit sprinkled with cinnamon. This is a bit brighter than the the Orveaux or Cras and could surpass the latter as the oak integrates over time.
