Adelle's, Wheaton
Tasted Tuesday, September 18, 2012 by AllRed with 610 views
xhoser was back in town and got together with the locals for dinner at Adelle's, which features zero corkage on Tuesdays. The theme matched up examples of varietals from the old and new world. The restaurant put us in a separate room off to the side, which I appreciated, and also provided two good stems per taster. I wasn't enthralled by the food, but they were otherwise very accomodating and happy to have us, so I will definitely be back to give the kitchen another shot.

Thanks all for sharing some very nice wines. I'm already looking forward to our next gathering.
1975 René Collard Champagne Brut Cuvée Réservée 89 Points
France, Champagne
Light golden color with notes of cashew butter, apple and bread. Medium bead. Apple, dough, citrus and roasted nut flavors; tart acidity. The citrus qualities came on strong as this opened over the course of the evening. Unique- not for everyone. Thanks for sharing, xhoser. 89-90 pts.
