  • 2009 Château Haut-Bailly 92 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan

Somewhat shy nose initially, but it really opened up into a gorgeous cedar bouquet after a few minutes in the glass. The palate is still immature, but it seems to have all the elements of a future superstar.

  • 2009 Château Haut-Brion 93 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan

The nose was so shy that I had a hard time getting the profile. The palate was fresh, silky and rich in flavors. Still quite tannic, but definitely a lot of potential. I'm not I see the $1000 value in this wine right now, but it may just be that I don't have enough experience to predict how great wines develop over time.

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien

Moderate nose. The palate is a little bit watery, but that seems in line with the style of this wine. Needs time.

  • 1986 Château Haut-Brion 94 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan

Nice brown edges. Very smooth aromatics with cassis, smoke and licorice. Extremely soft palate. Leather. Long finish. This was really good, but is it worth the current $600 market value?
