  • 2010 Château Canon-la-Gaffelière 94 Points

France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru

Nice dark fruit and coffee aroma along with some sweetness. Taste is pretty approachable, with some acidity and great dark fruit and tobacco. Medium tannins. Mid-palate may have had a hint of greenness.

  • 2010 Château Figeac 92 Points

France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru

Nice aroma with dark fruit, oak and cocoa. Taste isn't really showing too much now, but seems lighter on palate than would've expected based on aroma. A lot of tannin here.

  • 2010 Clos Fourtet 93 Points

France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru

Nice dark aroma, but not too over the top. Taste is smooth and drinkable, yet not too bold despite the dark fruit.

  • 2010 Château La Dominique 89 Points

France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru

A bit of lighter taste than the others, but something just seems missing on this one.

  • 2010 Château Pavie Macquin 90 Points

France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru

Nose isn't giving much, but fruit seems a bit lighter than a lot of the other wines. Taste is consistent, but it is a bit too acidic. Second tasting not as good, with more greenness coming through.

  • 2010 Château Troplong Mondot 90 Points

France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru

Aroma is very tough, with leather and oak. Taste is acidic, lots of tannin and not much fruit showing. Tough to get a sense on this one.
