The theme was worldwide chards and pinots. But it turned out to basically be white and Red Burgs. It was also an opportunity to meet Mike Zimberg and welcome him into the group.
This was a great event with all of the wines really showing quite well. Thanks to everyone for bringing great wines!
Red WOTN was the 2009 Peay Pinot
White WOTN was the 2009 Fevre Les Clos
2004 Louis Jadot Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières 92 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Medium dark gold color. PNP, drank 1+ glass over 45 minutes. This has nice nutty, butterscotch quality on the nose along with earth and citrus. The palate grows and takes on some weight, with citrus, apple, toast, and saline infused minerality and finish.

2009 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 94 Points
France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru
light gold color. Followed 2 glasses over 3 hours. This really was singing right off the bat. Nose is full of sea shells, oyster, ocean breeze, citrus, earth, apple. The palate has fantastic purity, wonderful minerality, citrus, fresh and crisp, with a long finish. This can only get better, but man is it delicious now. Group and my white WOTN.

2006 Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne 92 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Medium gold color. PNP, followed 2 glasses over 3 hours. Loved the nose, very complex, toasted, lemon zest, citrus, honey, tangerine, floral, mineral. The palate is round and full bodied, but not heavy, citrus, orange blossom, toast, honey, medium plus finish. This was a bit better on the first go round and was not quite as vibrant with the second pass. 93 initially and 92 later. 92+pt overall.

2008 Varner Chardonnay Spring Ridge Vineyard Bee Block 93 Points
USA, California, Santa Cruz Mountains
Light gold color. Followed 2 glasses over 3 hours. Nose has florals, ripe, mildly tropical compared to the last bottle, pear, pineapple, citrus, white flowers, mild oak. The palate is bigger, ripe fruits, pineapple, apple, citrus, mineral, a little butter, round with a long finish. Not quite as intense and long as the last bottle.
