Flight 1 (1 Note)

  • NV Jacques Selosse Initial 92 Points

    France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru

This is the August, 2013 disgorgement. Rich butter and brioche on the nose. On the palate creamy, richly-textured with waves of ripe fruit. A great way to kick off the lunch.

  • 2011 Domaine Ramonet Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet 93 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru

Quite full bodied, big and buttery in the mouth. The aromas and flavors are forward with wellness fruit and some underlying minerals and acidity. I think this will be best enjoyed sooner rather than later. Delicious!

Flight 5 (1 Note)

  • 2009 Domaine Ramonet Bâtard-Montrachet 93 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru

More focused more mineral compared to the ’11 Bienvenues. There’s powerful structure with round nice acidity, ripe lemon and hints of tropical fruit. Absolutely lovely for now and the near future. A beautiful, and delicious, monster!

  • 2009 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru Charmes 92 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru

Different in style compared to the Ramonet. Very young, precise and mineral with more citrus profile, green apples and great acidity. It was incredibly refined and powerful on the very long finish. Really excellent but needs more time to open up fully. A spectacular wine!

  • 2005 Etienne Sauzet Montrachet 94 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Montrachet Grand Cru

Terrific extra Montrachet depth and power, nicely balanced, mouthfilling and creamy. Drinking really well right now, but missing a bit of the extra Monty dimension on the finish. There is still a long road ahead for this wine to develop and unfurl. Impressive!
